It's Military Appreciation Week on the TigerTalk Podcast. In this forty-third (43rd) episode of the TigerTalk Podcast by Northeast Mississippi Community College, host Will Kollmeyer welcomes Northeast's assistant head football coach and defensive line coach Dustin Jones to the podcast. Jones, who served in the United States military for almost a decade, talks about his service and how his service links over to what he is doing now with the Tiger football team. In addition to his time with the Tiger football team, Jones talks about his time in the military, what it taught him and also how sports and the military interconnect with each other throughout life. In the second half of the podcast, Northeast's vice president for institutional advancement and executive director of the Development Foundation and Alumni Association Patrick Eaton steps into the guest role to give listeners a chance to experience the new veterans memorial monument that is being erected at the end of Cunningham Boulevard near the fountain. In addition to Eaton paying tribute to the veterans, he also gives the backstory on the monument -- how it is a community-led effort and all that went into bringing the monument to campus. Eaton also gives listeners insights into what the Development Foundation is doing on Thursday in addition to the veterans memorial dedication -- including recognition of scholarship donors and other exciting things at the football game. Kollmeyer wraps up the podcast with a new addition to the publication -- an extended version of what is coming up on campus that details events happening on and around the Northeast campus in a daily breakdown.
