Tigers Pitching Streak Ends in Sweep | Detroit Tigers News

The Detroit Tigers just wrapped up an historic pitching streak — three straight starts where each starter struck out at least nine and allowed two or fewer hits, a feat only matched once before in AL history, back in 2013 with Verlander, Sánchez, and Scherzer. Jack Flaherty, Casey Mize, and Tarik Skubal delivered dominant outings, with Mize fanning 10 and Skubal earning his second Cy Young. Troy Melton’s solid six-inning start ended the streak, but the Tigers still swept the Yankees — their first such sweep since 2008 — and fans are buzzing about the future of this elite rotation.
