Tigers Roster Shake-Up | Detroit Tigers News

The Detroit Tigers shut down Matt Vierling for the season due to a left adductor strain, making room to bring back reliever Brant Hurter from injury — a move that could strengthen a bullpen in need. Vierling’s abbreviated campaign ended with a .207 average and 31 RBIs, as the team sits nine games out of playoff contention. Meanwhile, rookie Andrew Sears is optioned back to Triple-A, while the Guardians race toward the wild card, just 2.5 games behind first place.
