Today, Larry goes one on onewith Woodbine’s Vice President of Thoroughbred Racing Tim Lawson, and they discuss whether this season was as challenging  weather wise as the 2023 racing season. He also discusses his role at Woodbine and what it entails and some of the challenges of the Woodbine Thoroughbred meet this year. Tim also mentions how he became part of the thehorse racing industry and talks about some of the key positions that he has held  in the industry  before becoming part of Woodbine’s team.; The Meadowlands Jessica Otten who is Marketing Coordinator, and TV Host , who discusses  her role at the track and some of the highlights at this yearsMeadowlands Standardbred meet. Jessica  also talks  about how she became part of the Harness Racing Industry and in particular on the promotions side and talks about an NHL hockey team that is near and dear to her heart.; Sugar Doyle, Announcer for  The Raceway at the Western Fair District, who talks about how the name ‘Sugar’ came about  and his previous experience as a Track Announcer in the Harness Racing Industry. Sugar also discusses a major promotion that will take place on Tuesday, ‘Toys for Tots’ , which also includes a well received Drivers’ Challenge.In our feature, ‘In Case You Missed It’ A Look At The Way It Was In Horse Racing News, Larry talks about anew Post Time at Woodbine Mohawk Park effective in January and also a recent race at Del Mar that was a great example of the athleticism of a Jockey. In our newest regular feature,‘Road Trip’, Larry talks about  today’s Grade 2 $500,000 Cigar Mile Handicap and mentions about some of the history behind  the race itself and who he believes the race ‘goes through’today. He also  provides  his ‘Ponies Picks of the Day’selections for several North American Racetracks,later on in the show.● Tim initially discusses if the  weather played an important part to the Woodbine Thoroughbred meet thisyear and how he became part of the Woodbine team. He also talks about the major undertaking  of repairing the E P Taylor Turf Course and why this rebuild is necessary and when we may see the project completed. He also talks about  what his role with Woodbine entails  and discusses in depth the varous roles that he has held in the horse racing industry before landing at Woodbine and also mentions about the horse population at Woodbine and whether it was an issue this season.● Jessica discusses her role as Marketing Coordinator and TV Host and what this role entails and the family ties that helped to ensure that she would be part of the Harness Racing Industry. Jessica also talks about the state of Horse Racing in Michigan  and where she sees the sport of Harness Racing in the future  and at the same time where she sees herself  and talks about if  she  had the opportunity  to change  one thing in Harness Racing , what would it be She also discusses some of the major races at the Meadowlands this year and  if there is any plans in place that will help save Horse Racing in the state of Michigan and mentions the greatest horse she ever watched race.● Sugar discusses where the name ‘Sugar’ originated from  and talks about the current Harness Racing meet at Western Fair and whether it has been a successful season so far. Sugar also talks about a major promotion this coming Tuesday which includes a Drives Challenge and  atoy dirive for ‘ Toy’s for Tots and mentions some of the upcoming special race days at Western Fair going forward. Sugar also talks about how many races he believes he has called to date and where the first one took place  and if there are any highlight races that he has called that still resonate with him . He also discusses some of the other major highlights taking place at Western Fair  the rest of this season which ends the last week in May.
