Time and Chance

Have you ever wondered why some talented people never reach their full potential while others with seemingly ordinary abilities achieve extraordinary success? The answer lies in a profound biblical truth from Ecclesiastes: "The race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong... but time and chance happen to them all." This message unpacks how divine timing intersects with human preparation, revealing that success isn't just about having talent—it's about being ready when opportunity knocks. Through the story of David's seemingly insignificant sling becoming the tool that defeated Goliath, we discover that God doesn't necessarily need our "awesome skills" to accomplish great things—He simply needs us to be faithful with what's already in our hands. Many of us are praying for platforms and opportunities while neglecting to develop excellence in our current responsibilities. Yet the secret Scripture reveals is startling in its simplicity: "Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with all your might." Your attitude toward your present work directly influences your future platform. When you demonstrate reliability, diligence, and excellence in small matters, you position yourself for greater responsibility. The promise remains that everyone will receive their divine opportunity—time and chance happen to all. The critical question isn't whether your opportunity will come, but whether you'll be ready when it does. Champions are made when nobody is watching, through consistent practice and commitment to excellence in the everyday mundane tasks. What's in your hands today? Whatever skills, talents, or responsibilities God has entrusted to you right now—however small or insignificant they may seem—do them with excellence. Your breakthrough isn't about having extraordinary talent; it's about being ready when your moment comes. PRAYER We are here to pray for you - with you.
