Time Is the Most Precious Gift
from Runpreneur Hosted by Kevin Brittain
Yesterday was my father's 79th birthday. And it brought me back to something I think about a lot — what do you actually give someone who has lived a full life and already has what they need? The answer I keep landing on is time. Not a product. Not something wrapped up. A shared experience. A day on a boat fishing for cod. A memory that did not exist before you chose to create it together. I remember as a child going deep sea fishing with my father — horribly seasick, but coming home with a bin liner full of cod and a memory I have never lost. That is what time given freely creates. Something permanent. I am on Day 2016 of a consecutive daily running streak, covering 20,160 kilometres so far, barefoot style, toward a full lap of the earth — 40,075km — to raise £1 million for children's causes including Great Ormond Street Hospital and BBC Children in Need. 19,915 kilometres still to go. What keeps me moving every day is the same thing that drives me to book the fishing trip — consistency, deliberate choice, and showing up for what matters. This episode is a reflection on presence, memory, and why the most valuable thing you own is your attention. #experiencegifts #streakrunning #barefootrunning #familyfirst #ukrunnerscommunity #runnerslifestyle #ultrarunninglife #runformentalhealth #strava #stravarun #Insta360 #vibramfivefingers
