He is a former organizer of the Willamette Writers annual writing contest for writers for five western states. Von is the author of several books that explore dreams, time, and consciousness. His most recent books include Programming Your Lucid Dreams and Survival in a Mill Town, a work of historical fiction about the 1916 Everett Massacre. Von has won the national gold medal from COVR for visionary publications, as voted by bookstores. Currently, Von lives with cats and a backyard filled with deer on a small, rustic island off the coast of Washington state.
