The world teaches us to focus and priorities our selfish desires ahead of others  The word of God instruct us to serve one another and to love others the same way we love ourselves (equal portions) “It’s my life, I will live it the way I want”, really? God gave us our lives, not ourselves. “I am self made”, really? What about your parents, family, teachers, role models, friends and even enemies, who contributed to your success in life. “I am self conscious/aware“, and you ignore your brothers and sisters who need your support and attention. “I am self sufficient” really? Who created you? God is the only is self sufficient.  What Is Humility: Christine Caine  Humility is not thinking less of yourself but it’s  thinking of yourself less Jesus died for you, don’t look down upon yourself  Playing yourself small doesn’t bring glory to God You don’t make God everything but making yourself nothing  People say I don’t want to take glory from God. Honey you can’t take glory from God not even in your best day  God is so big you can not make Him small “When you produce much fruit, you are my true disciples. This brings great glory to my Father.” John 15:8 NLT You are not gonna bear much fruit by living a small, insignificant life and minimizing yourself Mind of Christ  “Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus, who, being in the by form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God, but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men. And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross. Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.” Philippians 2:5-11 NKJV Why should Christians humble themselves? Jesus Christ our Lord humble himself  He didn’t take equality with God as something to be grasped  Made Himself of no reputation  Opposition Party  James 4:6-7 NLT Who is ready to go in a boxing ring with God Almighty? This verse is scary, I don’t want to be the one that person opposed by God King Saul, king Ahab and Jezebel as well as many other people were not humbled and found themselves in a ring with God We need to know where to draw the line 6 -7 Things God Hates “These six things the Lord hates, Yes, seven are an abomination to Him: (1)A proud look, (2) A lying tongue, (3) Hands that shed innocent blood, (4) A heart that devises wicked plans, (5) Feet that are swift in running to evil, (6) A false witness who speaks lies, (7) And one who sows discord among brethren.” Proverbs 6:16-19 NKJV The first thing on the list of things God hates is “ A proud look” The devil was kicked out of heaven as an Arch angel because of pride Closure: ”Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up in honor.“ James 4:10 NLT John 13 : Jesus was washing his disciples feet and said that the one who washes the feet’s of his brothers/sisters is the greatest in the Kingdom of God We should humble ourselves and be like Jesus and Serve The greatest service Jesus Christ ever did for us was to die for us on the cross.
