Als christenen proberen we in ons karakter steeds meer op Jezus te gaan lijken. Omgaan met boosheid vinden we daarin ingewikkeld, want we horen vaak dat Jezus ook nooit boos werd. Maar niets is minder waar, het verhaal van de tempelreiniging laat zien dat Jezus wel degelijk goed boos kon worden. Juist vanuit zijn liefde kon Hij zich behoorlijk boos maken over onrecht. Er brandde een ziedend vuur in Hem om Gods Koninkrijk en zijn gerechtigheid te brengen.
