The musical subsidiary. The musical subsidiary of raw impressions. Muh. And precious podcast.

Take it away. Blue. And down. Vintage introduction alert.

Yeah. I've used that before. I love it. I brought it back.

I was thinking you can call me precious anytime. I like that. Precious. Call me precious.

Come here, precious. Come here, precious. Oh my goodness. Speaking of precious.

Oh boy. Oh boy. Okay. Well, what's happening, Lou?

It's Annie Tunes Tuesday. Here we are in Greenfield, Massachusetts. Hello, Antadel. Hello, Uncle Lou.

Hey. I don't think I've ever really gotten to see you being an aunt like this. You're a really good aunt. You would be my favorite aunt.

Thank you. You would be my super special aunt. Yeah, our nieces are here with us in our home from Minnesota. And it has been a delight, you guys, like just a full, beautiful, incredible delight.

Every day has been just great. And tomorrow's our last full day. And I can't, I don't even want to think about it. Makes me sad.

This has been a special time. This has been a really special time. And it's tiny tunes because one of our nieces in particular, they're both actually musical. Alina also has a beautiful voice.

But Alexa sings and also plays guitar, right? And you go, Lillian Piano writes her own music. We did a song together that you could see on YouTube if you were so inclined. Yeah, maybe we'll link that in the show notes right the first one.

Yeah, we covered passenger by Iggy Pop. Yeah. Wow, you know, what two years ago or something? Maybe longer than that.

Yeah. But so she, we had the opportunity to sing play together again. So we chose a song this time. Lou and I chose a song.

Yeah. And it's a replacement song that we've been talking about. Just listen to the little ham tale, a little ham tale, a little ham tale, five takes a little lamb tale. So I'm missing in five takes a little lamb tale.

I'm satisfied. You said it's fine. I think goes. And anything goes.

All over the time. Everything you dream of. It's right in front of you. I'm satisfied.

You said it's fine. I'm so, I'm so, I'm satisfied. I'm so, you said it's fine. You said it's fine.

Was yesterday the first time she heard that song? Yes. Oh, well. Yeah.

Yes. So the song is. Unsatisfied. The album Let It Be by the Replacements, one of my, we're gonna be over to us my senior year in high school.

I'm glad about Let It Be by the Replacements among other things. But we just recently heard the song again and we were driving to the airport from our recent trip to Wisconsin and we mentioned this in the last pod. But, and so Lou and I, the song came on and we both were just, you know, struck in that moment. You know when the song hits you and I thought, man, I just love that song.

That song has never, ever sounded bad to me. It's such an incredible song and I adore the Replacements so much and I, I thought of Alexa. I knew she was coming to stay with us and I knew that you guys wanted to try another song together. Yeah.

We needed the song to do that. So we had been kind of thinking about it and that it was almost delivered to us. I'm like, oh my gosh. I know.

It's true. It's a good attitude in our lap. She's an avid singer, songwriter. Yeah.

Really curious about it too and really into the process. I mean, she and I sat for like a few hours yesterday and did the song down in the living room. And then when we got it up to speed, we brought it up here to the Ron Preshian Studio and she sat right in your chair and like, yeah. And it just sounded really cool.

Like right away her voice was so crisp and and then when I, and we just sat and played it live, it's totally live and recorded live. It was about the fourth or fifth version we tried up here. Okay, nice. Yeah.

And then um, yep. It's very, it's such a intimate recording. It's very, it was um, kind of shocked me a little bit. I was a little, I was, it was really, in what way?

It was kind of spellbinding, I would say, to hear her voice, to hear that voice. In this room. Yeah. It's so custom to this, to me and my marbled Marl.

I know. And to hear her voice on the mic, right? Yeah. Yeah.

That was pretty stunning. I, we were both tearing up. I didn't do anything much in the way of production. Yeah.

It's like, it's just live into two mics and me playing the guitar and we're kind of moving. But she, you know, she knew where to move on the mic and she was a, I don't know what she's real pro. She's such a pro. And yeah, we're both just really blown away to be honest.

And I, I'm sure listeners will agree that that's kind of one of the most stunning covers and interesting takes on that song, right? Yeah. Yeah. We are biased a bit.

We are biased guys. But uh, we love it. We love it. And um, yeah, we hope you love it too.

It was, it was really fun to see you guys collaborating and she just, her eyes, oh gosh, oh no, I'm not gonna cry, but she was just, she was really sparkling. Like her eyes were just sparkling afterward. And she just said that was so fun. And the way she looked at me, I thought, Oh, I love seeing that spark.

You know, when you have that moment, you've done something that feels really good. Um, and yeah, so it's been just incredible, just so incredible having them. And today we had this like sun dappled tour of Smith College. Um, our younger of the two sisters, others Alexa who sang with Lou and then Elena who she just finished her junior year of high school.

And so this was her very first college tour and we went to Smith and it was so fun. And oh, look at I've even got my water bottle. I'm holding up my free swag. Thank you, Smith.

Um, it was just really just really nice and I'm gonna miss them a lot. Oh gosh, I'm gonna miss them. So in tomorrow we're gonna go see Amherst College and then go see the Emily Dickinson home and which I've never been to. So it's like they're here gives me an excuse to be a tourist in my own town in the pioneer valley.

It's really great when you have guests and you're a lot and you're able to kind of see your world through different eyes. It's so true. It does make me see a three different eyes. Right eyes.

Yeah. Yeah. Young bright eyes. Um, yeah, I'm going to Spain tomorrow.

Yeah, you fly to Spain for one one show. Is it a festival you guys are playing with dinosaur junior? I don't know. Probably probably.

Right. I think I've seen the phrase festival site and some emails of festivals site. I've seen site. So yeah, I'm gonna drive the Boston tomorrow in our new used minivan.

New used minivan. Yeah. We're so excited. Did we talk about that on the pod?

Have we shared that we bought another minivan? Fucking car. We've been a one car family forever. Maybe we did already share.

I can't remember. But we're so excited about it. We got a 2011 Toyota Sienna minivan and quality minivan. I'm kind of a car.

The car is so amazing. I'm kind of a minivan connoisseur. I'm gonna say. We have too many bands in our driveway guys.

How I mean, how crazy are we? We love it. So yeah. For Honda Odyssey and then the Toyota Sienna.

Some day musicians out there will be able to consider my fleet of minivans at your disposal. I know we were talking about like. That's gonna be mine. That's gonna be my side hustlers.

Yeah. Renting them out. Renting minivans to the bands. Yeah.

Like up and coming. Kind of like. Three. Three piece bands.

Yeah. Two- I feel fully confident with you going to Boston in her. Oh man. I love that band.

You guys. She has like she came with cream leather interior just broken in. Just right. Broken in.

Just so nice. Oh and the CD player. Loving the CD player. Holy cow.

Really enjoying the CD player. The guy who sold it to us was probably like okay guys because I think there's a CD player in here. Man. I don't know if everyone's as excited about their dead media as we are but.

CD sounds so good. Yeah they do. In many bands. We took Tom Petty for a spin and earn.

Tom Petty was the first disc into that single disc. I think it's a single disc. I gotta make sure. It's although who knows.

There might be like a five disc. Changer disc. I don't even know about it. I have no idea.

Yeah. I don't know. I've got there's so many exciting things to discover. Oh and the captain's chairs behind in the second row have foot rests.

I'm telling you that would be like a band. Yeah. Great band. It's not going on tour.

Not that one. That's around the toner. Yeah. Yeah.

And a Boston. But yeah so you're leaving for a show in Spain and then the girls leave on Wednesday and oh my gosh and then I'm also taking Izzy to get her first haircut in a salon. I've just been cutting her hair all nine years of her life so I'm really excited for her to get her hair like shampooed in the bowl and the head massage. She's never had that.

Yeah. She's really excited. Well that's like that's pretty mementious. You mentioned I don't think it had registered to me.

Yeah like how big of a deal it is right? Oh yeah. She was like Mom I'm gonna have a spa day so I and she we're doing that before she goes to sleep away. Cap you guys.

Wow. Summer is in full swing. I know. Episode concluding in 25 shakes on the little lamb's tail.

That was 23 shakes. Thank you for listening to Tommy Tasty. It's a secondary podcast with the Ron Freshers podcast. So long everybody.
