Who cool I think it's like in the effort some shit the nigger that does the shit like oh y'all was wearing scullies and no I know you talking about yeah, yeah I'm I think it's like yo bro like you get away with that shit, but I haven't seen him like he might have like grown in shit Mmm, and I'm not trying to talk shit about him cuz I like Same for tiktok. No, really well, I guess but No, I'm saying is he probably takes the tiktok and throws them on YouTube, right? Yeah, that's exactly what he's not making content for YouTube Can I keep it fair cuz it actually has a real job he's a pharmacist You know saying like where it has a real job so like being a fucking social media provider whatever like concert creator Isn't his whole team right but my whole thing is like if people think like doing that because it works for him But it ain't gonna work for everybody so it's like yo, there's gonna have to be a time But you have to step it up people's that's all I'm saying people's No, you do and again, I don't want to see him step up I'm gonna see him succeed because I really want I mean the first part Part How much Do that Like you fuck out of here, no, I'm not going to keep you from $7,000 in-house YouTube setup yo, no, no, I'm bugging I said that wrong Okay, it's more like 17 20,000 I got I was about to say $7,000 That's true but but but they go above and beyond that they do talking about some fucking while we don't matter No, I'm not 10,000 fucking subscribers or whatever Well, I mean millions of subscribers and views and they'd be like, oh, well, you can do it just like me But don't do it just like me like There was a time that she was fucking doing your shit on a webcam Yeah, you know what you know what you bust her ass to get to the point where your content can look through and sound the way it does And you're gonna sit there and tell somebody else that's nothing that you should be shooting for I think to differ Like that shouldn't be the and some other might be anecdotal right because what happens is this is the reality of it You need so I'm using the word need loosely. Yes, you need a balance of both.
Yes But every rule has exceptions Every rule has exceptions. So yes, there are going to be people with sub-optimal visual and audio quality more likely visual Yes, all the other ones. Yeah, I was very important But you're going to have people sub-optimal visual quality that make it it's it's real shit It's going to happen often But the rule is they won't and also those people that make it with the sub-optimal stuff Watch what they do once they make it right they Only section in that rule is if it's a medium that doesn't serve it yes There's not necessarily service right hold DSL on The reason I stopped on tiktok Need to use my camera for tiktok was like and I'm not never have a new phone I might start doing it again, but not I don't want to phone though, right because I might end up I might end up sending it to the computer and To the fuck Labor so yes, it's laborious to the SLR the mirrorless for the tiktok stuff too But also it's still labor because if you're going to use your computer to edit everything and it's still in its impact To phone up, no, it's still a hassle my guy I Just think that people think that we make this shit look easy when it's really not hold on hold on I want to address special space that is the exception that I'm talking about special space That's the exact exception I'm talking about once you get somebody who is engaged with the content Yes, as long as the quality of the content stays the same you can do anything else right? It's the it's the brain.
It's the helping with bringing people in people in that is the issue so There's a very subtle Um thought that a lot of people have that they won't verbalize maybe because it's on the subconscious level about authenticity That is connected to how your stuff sounds and looks yeah, you know They may don't verbalize it even cause itself But there's a certain amount of authenticity wrapped into the production value so it's not even trying to undersell it We just saying that all that production value doesn't matter if your content is shit Yeah, that's great production value and you just I mean content is trash and these are gonna be the consciousness Yeah, and realizing this is this is for the cold the cold viewer. Yes, this isn't for You've been rapping for 30 years and you're following Doing this thing and they come over and they happen to like it So they say this isn't oh you got a bunch of friends in some industry and you decide to start doing a YouTube And that serves that industry so you tell your friends and they it's not that this is the oh, I stumbled across this okay That's that's really what this is about because yeah, there like I said there levels to everything nuance to everything This is a this is a this is a blanket statement that these people that we are talking about Make way to fuck My mom is all of them doing I'm like now like yeah, I remember what it was But I was like have lower quality production like and for you to tell these people that oh I'm trying to I'm trying to give you hope I'm trying to tell you how to do this shit. You're not keeping it a pain though. You know, I say no Be that hard at all It's one thing it's one thing to say why why not just be honest.
Yes, why not just say hey It doesn't matter as much it's not as important right versus it doesn't matter Why because a fucking clickbait and wanting to be definitive and again But I got into it with them got that youtubers then what time what you said is important You said your virus the virus the virus is where's matter where it's yeah? They do like you're like cuz the reason those things sound similar as fuck what you just said But they're definitely not the same they're not saying and also if your goal is to help to give advice to youtubers that are Start or consecrated first that are just starting they actually give them advice that's gonna work for now because To serve the algorithm right? Right Like you said where shouldn't be that hard like yo Like don't allow your lack of quality right now and your lack of resources right now to stop you from creating content Yeah, have something to get started with get started with that What to do we always say like you always say that I don't know I can't speak on James I'm pretty sure he has the same sentiment I know in the beginning when we got into the shit like no me like we told like yo like we always doing our shit We told him like yo, we don't have a lot of shit to do what we're doing But we just make it happen because we have an idea and we have the basic things to make it happen Done is better than perfect done is better than perfect. It'll be simple.
Of course somebody named adequate I've had to say to family members They wanted to they see the whole breakfast club set up right and they want something like that to get started with and I'm like Yo, you know expensive all of that stuff is you don't have that type so you're gonna how many years? He's getting degrees Understand the host on that show on pain for all that shit Everything It's coming from I'm saying yo be like if you don't have the funding for that shit Why shoot for that shoot for what you already got if you got a camera you got a computer you got money No, I'm saying you can make this out of them But also once you once you have if you were a content grader that millions of people following you and I'm clearly looking at your content And it looks crispy as hell and the same Don't guess like me about quality Coming like this quality and the same the same time the book has On the face Looking like Imagine if you had a water bottle and the people in flippin michigan based on the water and you got a water like clean We're talking about Because I'm looking at the up and coming Content creator I'm looking at you as inspiration anyway, right? The whole setup everything you got going on is rocking is rockin No, that's not really good point, but it also depends on how big you are if you got 500 followers not the biggest thing If you should look like Very good here's a very good point because at that point you are supposed to as expectation rewarding your followers Right, you're rewarding the people I got here by having this shit crispy, right? You're supposed to be crispy you so they know Support for you right on this That's why I'm talking about the earlier like it didn't he didn't do that What's what but that's this thing like his thing is just like not like really crispy shit And I think that's another reason why like people are geared towards the shit You know, I mean like I think like the people that like him they like that type of content like it just well But I don't think that's the connection.
I say I think it's the platform. Yeah, yeah, yeah Yeah, yeah, the platform they don't it doesn't want you to have The reason I did it is just because I had this fucking No Never hear that that means that every time no no no no no Run this shit I determine when this shit goes in Listen Wow like he really enjoyed that shit I had to get I had the weapon I just hate it how much you enjoyed it me me me me me Wow Oh Welcome everyone to black coach these podcast is my man SPJ And my guy adequate. Yeah, and I am tombstone the dead man and we are just a few geeks talking about pop culture from a black perspective Thanks Indeed now I don't know exactly what s&j has planned. He usually at the end of the show has some little game or something But I can guarantee you was this he's gonna make me mad well today What up what up he's got something in the tuck for to watch usually make a detention Yeah, just make sure you know y'all ain't gonna handle and then No, that's the high note and then find some way to come back positive before we get off this bitch See what we not gonna be right.
Thanks. I'm just a thing my job is so easy. We're not gonna make shut up I Hold up Make adequate rap again make Abby rap again hashtag listen from what I see right there and Rep's Doing this again I'm bringing up anything past tense No Alright, so I would never say freeway don't rap. Yeah, I would know what I'm says now if that's it for instance Jay-Z took like Two three more years to put our number project or or guess verse or anything and he's still as present like visually as he is Because I see him alive right I see him doing things and if rap isn't one of them eventually I just I just dropped a song Speak up speaking of which I just uploaded up on Spotify Absolutely Brian the other day love him still that's that's a big bro.
That's one of the put out there And he told me that you said a lot of great things about me. So I appreciate you for that. I'm grabbing your back So I'm right on my back. Yeah, basically like okay.
Oh, you talk about a forklift shut up It actually is Jay-Z's birthday day So The link That's not the case with you I I I I'm just saying my god your favorite next favorite next Oh I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I about that though this is a bad thing. What does that mean? It's wrestling terminology right? It's pro wrestling terminology.
He was the bad guy, the face is the baby face, the good guy right? Me and napalm was actually going to do a whole project like that where it was a wrestling beef put to reps you know what I'm saying like and have even somebody come in the video and now sir you know the audio one and have the whole sound of the crowd and all that and we just go back and forth like that and the form of that but the reason we didn't do it because unlike Eddie they pummaret. See I love pummare. But that would be more concerning.
You hear my fucking exasperation when you say that? I hear you. Yes. You get the point that I...
I hear you. That's the issue. That's how you did right there was the exact same side that Iron Man did when he was on the planet when he was talking to you all the way. That was the fact.
But you don't understand my position because that's fine. But yeah no real shit I promise you one of these things is going to happen. You see if you're coming to the bed who's going to be here versus face. I'm much better at being a face.
I just can't play here. It's just how it works. But anyway I've learned from my voice acting. Stent I am way better at playing.
This is where you're the good guy. I compared it to you know things. It's like I'm just into it more with the whole bad guy shit than with the good guy shit. That's really...
Sorry. I'm so fake. I'm just so the overrated. I am not.
I'm apparently niggas. I'm just saying. I don't believe I have left as much. And it's hard for any reason that was so tough.
Can I just say this though? Me and James are like this in real life though. This was so much like stuff that's not that we don't broadcast. I'm gonna say one and not give it context.
So we're not like do not any context of this please either of you. This was just like yes. This was just like the serial killer conversation that we had. This is my fucking out.
We're not adding any context. Take from that what you will on here. I'm dying. No I got some important shit that gets you.
You don't. There's nothing more important than this moment. No. I'm not gonna.
I just feel like I'm starting to say now I want 100% of that. No. No. Then we gotta get into the hill of fame too.
No. No. You're adding context. Leave alone.
I'm gonna say this is for you. I'm so sorry. You know. I just like you.
James feel like he's been attacked. No we don't. I do. I have scars from there.
I literally like before we got on the part like I literally put out a post. And I was gonna even want to talk about this shit because I thought about it on the post. I'm sorry my brothers love. I feel attacked.
I want to be clear. No. I don't make no. No.
No. I know that. Okay. Can I was about to be real officer like what more than previously was that's crazy.
You want to hear it? No. My mother's not a rapper. My mother.
I'm not my mother. I'm out to talk about. I'm not my father. Right now Michael.
Hallelujah. Come on and talk about it. Hallelujah. She's gonna have bars for your little sna the whole S.
J.A. Listen. Just talk about the times. You can talk about that time.
You got that backhand. Hey. She would never. Here's the reason, cause she don't like, she won't want to talk about it.
She won't run up. I'm breaking blocks for her. You can be a coach right there. Yeah, it's all about the most fighting.
Thanks, I'm with it. I'm with it. I'm with it. You missed everything.
You know how great it is not to have the opportunity for SBJ anyway. It's great that his mom doesn't rap, because his mom come from that generation where we was rapping. You know what I'm saying? Like it was like, yeah, no, roll time.
Am I my mother rap? I would have been rapping earlier. Yeah, you would have. Yeah, you would have.
That's a fat. That's a fat. You would have like gravitated to the world that shit, like media. Oh, absolutely.
That's a fat. Absolutely. The man your mom is not going to have that big of an age gap. And so that's that same when it was popular, and a lot of people wasn't trying to get into it.
Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, I think you're like one year apart or something like that. Yeah.
No. Matt, can you imagine? How you know she didn't? How you know?
No. The reason, the only reason that I use as my anecdotal evidence is her feelings about what she's making. Largely ambivalent. It's not that she doesn't like.
Yeah. Yeah, that's different. That's different. That's different.
I was pretty ambivalent about that shit for three years. I was just like, three years. I was just like, three years. I think she's been going for 33 years.
Sorry. Yeah. Yeah. That's true.
All right. All right. All right. I want to talk about a couple of things.
Hey, Sean, what you missed was, honestly, you missed us going back and forth over the whole idea that Andy don't rap. All right. I want to express some real. Just being cleared.
I want to express some real anger now. Oh, shit. Some actual anger. Couldn't get me started.
Like I've said, don't go out clearly. You're a big hole. Another hole. I'm gonna punch the gun.
Yo, I love that show. I absolutely don't. I did not think, I didn't either. You couldn't have told me.
You couldn't have told me either. What show am I talking about? Oh, yeah. You couldn't have told me.
I love the way he's setting everything. I don't know. I didn't hear any good shit about that shit. Me too, latch it, my guy.
Yeah. I think some people, I think there's a segment of people who, because they got so accustomed to the huge spectacle that is hard for them to appreciate the street level goodness that we're getting Yo, it's the gym and I could have wanted it to be. Yeah, it's like legitimately. I'm pleased.
Humor action, you know, Easter eggs. Oh, sound of throwbacks to the college right side. Absolutely. So real anger, work.
Now again, this is funny because the things that I say on here, sometimes I'm coming back to biting the ass in a karmic way. Wait, hold up. Can we do this shit correctly? No, ask the question.
No question. I mean, yeah, that's true. You know what? You guys have a point.
You're right, you're right. I need to set the segment up the way we always set the segment up. The continuity is important. Concrete is important.
I just want to ask my brothers, what was your week like? Let's talk with that. No. I mean, again, it's like you're saying I'm wrestling.
So these things come back and back as karmically. Not like I've gotten in trouble or anything, but you're just like, I'll say something on here and then something will happen in real life to contradict it. It's like, god damn it. So again, I absolutely like my job.
In general, shit doesn't go wrong in general. It's just that when it does partially mainly because I'm insurance effectively. If everything is going well, I barely have anything to do. But the moment that something goes wrong, it has potential to be astronomical.
So this motherfucker. So we have, what is it? I can't remember the correct term. It might be still on him.
He might be able to correct me. It is cyber insurance. It might not be cyber insurance. But anyway, basically we have a contract with the insurance.
Yeah, well, I'll explain what it is. Because I might be saying it wrong. It's basically we have a contract with this IT company that they beck our shit depending on, it's just like conscience. We have a specific set of guidelines that we're supposed to follow.
And as long as we follow those things, we are insured against a certain amount of balance worth of cyber tax and shit like that. So because of that. I'm still here. I'm still here.
One of the things that we have to do on those guidelines is we have to go through every step possible to make sure that our computers are secure. So in the downtown office, we are on a domain that has a firewall. So that's fun. On the jobs, we are not on a domain at all.
They are several, and this is technically, but the jobs are on individual, many worker groups. They're not domains. So in order to make them secure, we have physical firewalls that we take out. And there's a whole lot that I can't go into as to why this process has taken as long as it has.
But this started pre-pandemic, and it's still not complete. Every place with a computer does not have its firewall yet. And there are a bunch of different reasons, pandemic, also being one of them, but other reasons too, that I can't say. But so I've recently put one of the firewalls at one of our locations.
What the firewall does is protect from the text and all that stuff, but it also has a website filter where you can black list and white list different websites so that anything connected to it cannot get to a specific website or can get to a specific website. So we have our set up to black list everything, and then we white list the sites that we feel are safe enough for the jobs to be able to use without issues. Prior to this device being at this location, this person had free access, free untethered access to the internet. Anything with a dot, something I get to.
Right. So I finally got around to being able to take his box out. So I get there. Raising.
We speak. I don't like, I can't give you that one. I can't give you that one. Yeah, what does it know about?
Yeah, I don't know what that means, but it still was funny. It was funny. No, it was funny. Yeah, I can't give it to you.
I can't give it to you. If I was saying, hurry. Raising. OK, I'll give you that one.
And this one. Yeah, you'll give me one, Raising. But. So I was like, all right, cool.
I got there, started setting everything up, make all the changes. I got to make connecting everything where it needs to go. And I finished. And I get up.
And he's like, I'm done. I said, yep, all done. So for your information, there are probably going to be websites that you are going to try to get to, that you will not be able to get to. Don't worry about it.
If it's the website that you need, just email me, and we'll be able to get it in there. Mind your business. Oh, yeah, mind your business. It's just one person.
Well, it's just one person. Yeah, it's a step. I'm looking for an engagement. So he immediately loses his shit immediately.
Well, it's inconvenient to do things that way. Wait a minute. Did he say it at that decibel? No.
No. He was lower because you're not about to do. It was just us doing it. Oh, no.
Yeah, you're not about to do that. So how do I play? I play the firewall. He says to me.
I'm just going to put this off on insert vice president's name. It's impractical for me to do this. First off, know your role and shut your mouth. Because the saying isn't shit rolls uphill.
That's not what the saying is. Yeah. You do not. I don't know what outside of white privilege.
I don't know what makes you think you can go to a vice president and be like, no, I'm not doing this one way. You do it. What? What the fuck did you want?
No, truthfully. In what capacity does that work? That the superpower of white privilege can do that. That's not your shit going beyond the street.
You're a shit. You don't want anybody going for that? That's only explosive situations. Sorry.
So before I left, he had sat down. He had sat down and started typing an email. And he let me know. I'm about to email.
No, but he said what's going on you? Because this is some way. Wait, wait, wait, it's all gets so much worse. So he started writing email.
I said, OK. And I walked out. He said, hey, wait, wait, wait, wait. So a couple hours later, I get a text from my supervisor.
I was not my supervisor. The text says, why did you take away such an internet? And so I immediately called her. I said, what?
He just called me and he was talking about you took his name. I said, no, it's because he doesn't know what he's talking about. What I did was I placed one of the Iraqis. And she's like, ah, OK.
That makes sense. And I'm like, yeah. But he said he said it in a way in the most incendiary. Oh, no, it's worse.
I found out later. It gets worse than that. But this is what I knew at the time. So she's kind of like me showing a talking about.
So we kept that conversation short. But it was on the necessary details. When I got in the next day, she told me the whole situation. She said, he said, I don't know if you instructed him to do this, or if you're aware.
But so now he's trying to make it seem like you out there, like, wild him. And he's, you know, I know he's often didn't tell you. Right. Right.
She basically, she effectively cussed him out. So she expects to be in trouble because she expects him to tell. He's one of the best friends. Oh, you.
Right. Right. So, um, let me see. So he was adamant.
He wasn't going to do it. I'm not going to do it. I'm not Wednesday. This happened.
I put it. I placed it Monday, Wednesday. I got this one called. Hey, James, it's such and such.
How are you? If I send you a list, if you approve these sites for me. Oh. So we can found religion now.
Okay. So what happens is, well, this is a lot of my coworkers in the field have the dynamics of the company fucked up, like, and I'll blame them completely, but they still wrong. I don't know if it's because they see the one guy who's a vice president all the time. I don't know if it's the definition of vice, which is supposed to be one who takes a couple of definitions of vice.
No, not those. But the one that we use for vice president is supposed to be one who takes place of. And I think if they even know the definition, maybe they're thinking one means the number one rather the entity. Right.
I don't know if it's because we use the term vice president instead of a chief officer. That's probably what it is. But for my entire tenure, they have had this ultimate fear of this vice president. And they think he has ultimate power save for the president of the committee.
And they think he can snap and I can't snap him. Right. No. So what happens is the field happens to be where the largest amount of our employees are.
So yeah, that's the case. But that vice president is the vice president that's in charge of the field. There's a vice president that's in charge of marketing. There's a vice president that is in charge of legal.
There's a vice president that's in charge of IC. There's a vice president that's in charge of finances. Like they have their own lanes that they are in charge of. You can't just overstep someone else's balance because that's their lane.
So a lot of times when somebody wants something done, I'll call him Ron. Like what Ron said, regardless of whether he actually said it or not, but what happens is because everybody else is terrified of him. And here's the thing. When I was in the field, I had the same thought that he was one, two, and that's it.
But I never had that fear of him. Right. Because I was always doing what the fuck I was supposed to do. Now I'm not saying that all of them that fear him don't do what it's supposed to do.
But it's just how I look at things. Right. This is my job. This is what I'm assigned to do.
If I'm doing this, you ain't got shit there. Just hate about me. Hey, yo, it's like Shastafjur Ramamadur. When you think it's right, people think you're doing nothing at all.
That's a part of it. It's similar to the whole thing. It's the longest thing that's going to write people aren't going to say anything. It's that type of thing.
Also, one of the lessons that Hater needs to be learned, especially specifically from Dude, but this is a lesson that everybody could benefit from is, you know, stop being out and usually talk about what you're not going to do. Listen, because my grandfather used to say hard times, I'm going to eat Chaya on a perp. That's a... But I'm snipping at you now.
You're going to do what you got to do. You're usually not going to eat something that's hot. Right. Yes.
What you want to do. Yeah. If it means you're going to lose your job if you don't do such and such. Unless you're in a position and willing and ready to lose your job.
Yeah. Then you're going to do that shit. You ready to shit like how you feel James? Like, because I remember you sat shit a few times ago like you don't like to work.
Me neither. I don't like to work. No, I don't like to work. No, I don't do it.
I don't like to work. No, it's like a suit, but at the end of the day, still just like I get up when I don't want to do what I have to do. Because like, yo, you're like, you're like, I'm not supposed to do it. I'm supposed to do that.
would probably enjoy it more if you stood to benefit the most from it. Oh, absolutely. When I could go there and do what I need to do. Oh, yeah, that's the point.
That's a good point. But I think a lot of that is because, like, I don't, but I'm not such an I was coming up. I didn't pursue a end of all labor. Some labor is good.
There's the labor that pushes forward in my agenda. Yeah. So even if I had $50 million in the bank, I still would be working just not for somebody else. I still be producing shows.
We still be doing the things we don't. Yeah, absolutely. That's what I mean. Like, I like my job.
Like, yo, it literally pushed me forward to doing things that I want to do. Like, that's not going to be my mom's spot. I got my sister's grave. No, yo, it's the same thing that we were talking about earlier.
Like the whole content creating, like, you start with what you have as you get in a better position, you can switch out some of those things, but you start with what you have. Whatever the job is, that's what I got to do. Once I get in a better position, whatever that means, then I can switch out those aspects. That's just the same thing.
So the funniest thing about this is I went into this with all sincerity. I went into this wanting him and wanting to not inconvenience him in any way. Right. Right.
That was my intention. Right. But when you come back with, when you come back, when you come back, when you come back. I'm just so excited as when I'm eating sausage, bacon, the nicks.
Only thing that's not great. I mean, sure. The phone's going for a while. You've been eating for like 22 minutes.
But stupid. But so I went in with all positive intentions. But the funny thing is before I left, he was saying something like, yeah, I'm not going to go on my phone in such distance. That's not bad.
But funny thing about this. So he sends me the list. I get the list. I start to go putting this, the sentence.
Wow. My boss comes out, sees the list. And she's like, hold on. We're not doing that one.
We're not doing that one. And you know what? I'm going to email his bosses and ask them about this. I'm asking the call me about this.
The next day, they still hadn't called her. So I'm like, I asked them, like, did he even want to talk to you? She like, no, don't do anything. I said, okay.
And she said, I don't know. I did not, I did not put this to her. She said, well, if he has a company phone, maybe he's just going to have to go look at it. I said, oh my.
Wait, wait, didn't he just say I'm not going on my phone. Stop saying what you're not going to do. Hey. You might have to do that shit.
Let's say it's my word. Again, all this is because of the contract insurance that we have. We have to have these things secured. We have to.
It's not an option. Just because, oh, so Del Sound. I get three. No, I didn't know he came in earlier.
Okay. But yeah, it was like, this is what this is what has to happen. Nobody's doing anything to you. Like, I got to do this.
Okay. That doesn't change anything. It still has to be in place. Whatever, you you rectified it which you're holding your moral compass is this shit doing me.
You know what it is? You know what it is? It is what it is. See the upmost.
But only another dumb ass ever. There's more dumb ass. No, there's no lack of dumb ass. No, my God, don't run him donuts, right.
She's Jewish. Hmm. What does that matter? Let's get to you when we finish it.
I was literally about to say they won't ask. So the donuts from the Jewish bakery. They be it like They differ they're not like any other don't I don't know what's different about them. I don't know what they do different Or whatever it's like it's not saying texture.
It's not like it baby I'm a little bit like you say banging do they be buying like the donuts at that corner shop and Lexa the market It is completely different. They are amazing. They're not necessarily better than them, but they are amazing But it's like just allow me to tell you that you have no go I'm gonna chase the gold bars. I'm from Baltimore You get a chance to come up in business and Baltimore amazing Yeah, you're gonna be on some homeless Really hard it's that's not a difficult thing here.
I know rock Show me the spots of gold So she brought in donuts she I Was six more she brought back to my department particularly I guess because there were like a lot of them So there were enough in other places already and she had this last set of half dozen so she wanted back to us is For was that there? She says them down she opens them she explains the different flavors. She expressed how fresh they were they had just been made like Literally finished and then she came to work She explained how quickly they go bad. You know she needs to yeah Explained how different they taste when they're still they're not the same.
Yeah, it's just not safe She then walked away and left the fucking container wide open While COVID is happening my job, bro So you are sitting here bothering us about these fucking donuts again They're about fucking knowing that you bring in every goddamn year Yeah, so you feel like you have to still explain to us that we have to eat them while they're fresh And then you leave them open for the air to aid the soundest process Because this is the same issue I be having with bread I Like fresh bread I've been a soft I like fresh bread so I know because I understand some science stuff That if you twist it and keep the air from going and put the thing back on it the tie You preserve the freshness With soft even the ends of it is soft and that shit and springy and Mmm, this is it compliment whatever you got going on in the middle What's going on? Like No I like fresh bread Yes I Know I Know I Know I Know I know I know I'm a very irritable person. Yes, no clearly irritating person. That's just as well So I'm y'all know me there was not anything in this world I was gonna get you to respond to that message I was not going to this day.
She would not have had a message from me But she wasn't supposed to respond back to that stop that's my point she followed up after that a couple minutes I Was We have a twilight zone why do you feel like this was a you don't say any Why would you expect probably there's no way you think that this was a proper response to what I sent you right you clearly Are just typing how you talk and I get that because if if we're having a verbal conversation that makes more sense Oh, yo, you see such a such Cindy who Cindy Cindy that makes sense Version of it but contacts matters Verbal that could work because I have your intonation I have all these other things outside just the words Like Defining a word with the word right Alright, so this thing This other thing that just came back to the back of the night delivery people now two weeks ago I expressed the issue about having issues with delivery people hypothetically Because it hadn't happened in a while But it happened last week. I mean before last and then it happened again this past week, right? This one fucking left my groceries outside. So could you um hit him up and Tom?
Hello And this is gonna lead to crowd participation honey, I need your opinions and ideas on a couple things Again Particularly with the grocery thing I have I do I order groceries from Amazon pretty much weekly since Right before the pandemic started right out of all of those times I may have had an issue seven times Which makes me believe that is something wrong with the person delivering because the vast majority of people do it right? so First of all she gets there my phone rings. Why the fuck is my phone ringing the instructions specifically say text I Answer the phone. Hey, I'm here with your groceries.
Okay. Thank you. I hang up I was doing something it's groceries. I was doing something so like five minutes later out in my door to my apartment and don't see any groceries Alright walk down the steps don't see any groceries.
Why the fuck what? Go through the main door look out and I see them on the steps My first move move them inside of the building my second move go upstairs and get my phone so I can take her tip So that leaves me Exercise that we gotta do I feel bad partially because of tip culture. Let's talk about it So question question the first in what scenarios in life? Do you feel tipping is?
Appropriate alright, let me go. I'm just gonna chime in first and then hopefully people in the audience will come in behind me with some stuff In order to talk about that guy was prefaced with the fact that it is flapped up there They still have these businesses just in my opinion that are allowed to operate with workers making so little money that the tip thing is Part of the thing what they literally won't make enough to survive off I think that's ass and then needs to be something done about that particular system Having said that I'm going to cut you off in the middle of your next sentence I just want to know where you're going before I cut you off. Oh, I'm going I've worked in the in the Service my first job was as bus boy And I work in a couple of restaurants with tips where very important I feel like if you know your question is when is it not okay? No, no, no, no, no my first question in what scenarios in life.
Do you think tipping is appropriate? So because I understand the reality of the system that we're in and the job that these people are doing right? I cannot change that system by myself over fucking night So if I'm at a restaurant and the person is giving good service there are ten of and they're blessing their ass Yes, I will give you a tip I know people like that absolutely Right, right, right? Let me give you my answer what I want to give you my answer just to shape the answers that are right My answer to the question in what scenarios tipping is appropriate my answer is anytime someone is performing a service that you could reasonably do Yet don't want to hmm.
Where that is my answer for when our tipping is Again, I'm using the word appropriate not necessary not any other appropriate right anytime someone is performing a service You could reasonably do yet. Don't want to right and the reason I put it like that is because no body is expecting you to tip your surgeon Well, nobody is expecting you to tip the person who made your car That is just not anything that you could reasonably do yourself But for some reason you aren't going to do it. All right, go ahead When in what scenario in life do you think tipping is appropriate? I mean I get tips all the time like that's not what the question is like, oh look over here before you cross the street Come on, oh, no, I'm not like I said all this I'm even like even if I have bad service and shit at the rest of my I was don't say but it like but there's a difference between the percentage of cities Now I have more questions No I always That is the only scenario where it's appropriate for you.
Um, I don't think I've been in others and there was where like we're tipping was like Delivering people. I'm never there when they're delivering my shit To me there's over so yeah, I do I do See them like in the same paradigm as I'm going out to eat so I What about what about? You got a flat and I'm not talking about just low air. I'm talking about like you got flat flam you No, I mean Did you Anytime someone's performing service that you could reasonably do yet don't want to but I never been to that I can't speak on it.
No, okay, so you don't do it Because I never meant to it but if I needed like somebody to change my flat and I didn't like it would sit them like Oh, look, you know, like okay, so basically basically you answer some of them. I Yeah, okay, because I mean I understand it's your job It's like that's a it's a labor job, you know, it's not like you're servicing people so yeah And even though you're still gonna get checked out in the week like it plus I know like it's nice to know people like to know like they're on like what they did matter, you know, I mean It's a form of appreciation exactly that's what I mean I appreciate it. Absolutely. I'm with you.
All right, the second question Should tipping be currently not we're not talking about changing any systems that currently exists currently in the world Okay Alright, so I'm talking about in the world as it exists. I hate it here sure absolutely But without change note not a lot of the other situation. No the world we have should tipping be mandatory I don't think it should be mandatory because like everybody's different like if people don't want to say They should have to you know It should be something that's on compulsory. I mean, but I feel like if you're a good if you I feel like if you're a decent person You will say people that are certain, you know, I'm saying like, okay Without changing the system changing nothing we have now.
Yes should it be mandatory mandatory No, I should question about the word mandatory. Okay. Is that regardless of type of service? Blanket mandatory.
No, so Well my cash cash here is also Like Only in this What are your personal tipping guidelines, I'll give you mine first You start with a baseline There's a certain amount that I go into any situation that I've been appropriate to tip In my head that I'm going to give this person. There's I have that in my head already exceptional service gets you more Poor service gets you less If you do enough exceptional things it could go quite a bit if you do enough poor things it could go down to zero That's me All right, well, yeah No, I'm just going to use it but my whole thing like when I said I always sit like a dove like all this on Then you say I'm not used to a capitol anymore at all like I used to use it, but I was like It's just a massage when I'm ready to go I'm ready to go, but at least always sit it up No matter when I went in service is bad or good, but I just sit with a just so you know Get fuck about it and like no, like I look down for somebody. No, I mean, maybe it's more of a um Thing that makes me feel good. Sure.
Not really like I'm being altruistic or anything. Right, but it's like altruism is overrated About it's still effectively is a given thing. Yeah Something and you feel better about it. Yeah, you got something out of it.
Yeah. All right. Um, next question Is there anything you don't like about tipping culture currently? Yes?
I'll answer first Um Basically the typical percentage seems weird to me seems extremely weird to me and here's the scenario I am known Like I've done this a bunch of times in my life to where First of all, I want to um present a new swash. Um, I don't know if you guys know Um, I like food you lie. That's not what you said over the day. Well, listen.
I'm sorry. I like food Um, no shit. So I would literally go somewhere and just grab some fries, right? In that scenario I've now gone into a place now.
Please don't miss him. Please don't hear something that I'm not saying In that scenario, I've gone into a place Well, hey, listen, um, but please don't hear something. I'm not saying what I'm about to say In the scenario where I've gone to a place for just french fries. That means I've gone in there I've taken up the similar amount of time to what I would have said for somebody else is taking up I've taken up a similar amount of your energy that somebody else is taking up but since I only spent three dollars You only gonna get you know That's crazy.
That's a crazy part of me, right? Um At the same time If someone happens to be getting something that is like super overpriced and I don't mean like when I say overpriced I'm using the wrong word. Um, but what I mean is like just a high high price I mean like state or ribs and shit I'm on a fucking list. You get if you get a rib and chicken chest of peak Mill you got you paying for the ribs you paying for chicken and you paying for the seafood.
Yeah, yeah, that's gonna be a higher I shouldn't be in a position to have to give you 200. I'm exaggerating But I shouldn't they'll be in a position to have to give you 200 dollars Not depends if I'm the one serving give me no, it's just not gonna happen Right, so the survey has nothing to do with that. It's me. No, okay, whatever.
Um, and my other thing Other thing is and I'm glad that you two have answered these questions the way that you have so far because it proves the point that I'm making Shaming people's tipping policies is weird and unproductive. Yeah You can acknowledge that the current system is trash But shaming someone for tipping the way to these hip is not going to help anything That's that's just that's just a That's a car that's a car that's a car that's a car that's a given Can I use it in a bar? Specific person right about that. Yeah, no, you can use their name Right, but if somebody's like it's always not being asked about they're being asked about it attack them for being an asshole But if somebody like I hate the bar if you can't afford a tip you shouldn't be That's a dumb ass bar.
It doesn't make sense Compromable so when people out if you have kids you not allow us to like go out and have fun and go out and go out You know what I'm saying like go out the club I'm allowed if I'm in the movie theater to bring a kid that she doesn't know that's a movie that I'm saying I But can we get since we are demanded Crop this patient with someone read off some of these comments Tipping thing so I would say is tip culture is the worst and not just because of its origins and slavery Vermin says a lot of people who get tips wouldn't want to lose them. That's true. That's true Um, so I was again comes in and says like the u.s. In Canada are some of the only countries that have an actual tip culture It's it's fucking obscene that these companies make tons of money You know we're paying people below even minimum wage because tips are expected absolutely Melissa she says um, I typically tip when someone provides a service for convenience what sbj said um Vermin Tipping started in the prohibition as bribery.
Mmm interesting Um We got service again in an ideal society tips wouldn't be a fact because people will be paid properly Like I said capitalist healthscape where it I generally fall under what sbj said both legs I jumped someone's car and they tried to tip me after That's true. Right. Um, I remember says I feel the tip is appropriate whenever a person goes above and beyond no matter the profession Um, I just look at it. Um Cyrus says uh, the other exception is if your friends come over to help you out with something it may not be a tip per se But buy on a six pack of food that is an interesting statement generally if I have somebody over to help me do something At least get some food Like tap my bottle because I always have a bottle on decky like something right?
Yeah, I even let you drink that shit while you're doing this Like No Um, let's see. Um, Marissa says I don't tip my mechanic or vet etc, but once a year I give a gift usually doing holidays and something I think for them, right? Um, see I want to get to that type of level Um, so I was generally 15 percent. I'll go with a little sentiment if everything was garbage There isn't necessarily an upper limit for me, but I've done a hundred percent tip with some amazing service and experience.
Right? Um, once again, I was goes Absolutely, it's fucking terrible. We should just be paying people actual wages. Yeah, then we can't decide what comes in with the absolute truth about spj He doesn't like who he loves food.
That's the money Cindy says uh, typically I'm not so sorry for the employee to make a living wage, right? That's as long as tipping is the thing though based on the 100 percent of your stupid Thank you Primary Weird as fuck to me. Yeah Make simple on you. Um both like says I will tip bigger for smaller businesses No matter the service, but still based on quality of service Um, bitty says we only tip here in Ireland and UK for extra service or we know them and taxis get the change from notes christmas time We always tip all services with box biscuits bottle of alcohol and stuff yet culture matters.
Hey, what's up, Joe? Hey, um vermin said I'm seeing rest of ronston had signs that say please no tips we pay our waitress I'm using the tip as what the fuck it should be used for if this person is providing me a service and they do well Service and doing something to show my appreciation Yeah, when I was working on lows and when I was working there was during the summer shit So I was doing the most and I was loading like most and back of people's trust. I said and they were like oh We're not allowed to get sips and some like a bunch of people would sit and take those tips Oh, I definitely talk about it. We're not really allowed to do that.
They were like, no, fuck I like you did a good job like I appreciate because I wasn't wanting to do this shit myself Um, so I was says there's a reason for percentages though And it's because the service tip out there bought tennis cooks in house Basically paying the business to work there. Oh, thanks Our percentage of the percentage of this total sales. So if you're prepping out, please get tipping out bar cook house a total of 10 percent Anything less than actually running a table. Here's the thing My first job was that's busboy.
That's absolutely right. I got a percentage of servers I'm saying um Joseph It's it's all right. So the server You are so a lot of us will have you know, you got the cooks you got to serve You got the server slash waiter and but you still have a busboy, right? Generally people don't tip the busboy, right?
So a percentage of the waiters tips will go to the busboy or might go to the cook, right? Right. Um, Joe says I think we need to have living wages, but I still reserve the right to tip extra some places raise wages Then tell diners that they can't we just read that. Yeah, exactly.
It's dumb as fuck lounge business Exactly. So I was gonna again, I have a lot of opinions on this, but it's because I've been in the industry for yes true I've been in the industry for a long time, but he says it's the same here Most people don't like taking tips and buys them a beer next time they see them A dark side injury says, um, I can't fathom who doesn't like My guy Joe says it's percentage because the expensive restaurants make much higher revenue and hence would have more money to distribute to employees Um, he says although percentages be damned as in the cheaper places. I tip higher percentage to help out more Um, Cindy says, uh, Jamie is a UPS driver. That's a husband.
Right. He always gets tons of tips gifts doing Christmas What he thing is he always gets the most from the customers that are low maintenance throughout the year When once he goes above and beyond for usually give him very little or nothing That's a little thing. This is why I feel like you'll do everything averagely like don't go over No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, that's not what we're doing. That's what I do crazy again integrity That's crazy.
I have I have um concast. I got his finity. Oh, okay Yeah, well, it was a terrible bar. He was responding to my integrity line.
Oh, he's saying. Oh, what was that? Yeah, he's so He's terrible Yo, because we're not no frittin bar's clearly having the right in the world. Oh, see He spent the black Was He used that same cat he had to do with that and it just masterfully worked Oh my god The synopsis the business synopsis So you know bandaid clean-up What else zip lock bag Velcro q-tips these are things that are items that the general populace has accepted as Using the brand name of the most popular one to speak for that I don't know how I think right in general Right, that is what ether is to get songs in hip-hop After it happened literally people use using it as a verb yes Or someone presenting a dis-song in hip-hop particularly a good has to be a good one.
Yeah, that's a big good one So that is that is that is why we had the visceral reaction that we did to seeing that not that you did anything crazy It's just that where we are thinking this is one of those those concepts then just it's here. It exists here Saying that Jay Z Not known for this but now it's Ken rep so he's got a puncher's chance Yeah, no effects. Yeah, that was the first time I heard it and I was like I'm gonna rail first time to you. We just all of the job sit around and I saw everybody's faces Like like when it started I saw people with the whole crazy guy this is this is over and then doing a course of that song I saw people's faces.
Yo, it didn't even take that long for me. Honestly, listen listen This was back when I was like super JZ fan so wait hold up dar saw him. He said I'm gonna address it appropriately, but again, this is when I was JZ stand for this because again my big cousin that's Outside of like Kara, but I so my father my introductions to hip hop My step-hop was running around listening to Kara's one but I was first like outside of you know you hear the music But outside like just specifically being in a position where like this is what we listen to right that K-Rex one number two reasonable doubt so Yeah, JZ was JZ was again. This is why you you shouldn't be talking I'm joking clearly because we're hosts.
How can you not talk? Okay? Anyway, so I'm like all right there and then I read better fuck JZ wait hold on What's going on? Okay, this is what we doing?
It was on still magic It was on still magic and I'm like I'm like You know you Stop So what you're doing is so what you're doing is because there was no way In the world you could convince me that whatever you put out regardless of if you directly directly did a whole song Or if you just mentioned it you can there's nothing you could have done to convince me that it wouldn't be technically So right yeah, it's not it's like this is what he did so words mean thing. I was just thinking about the other day I was listening to some oh M and I Come to grips with what it is. I know why I like certain people the way that I know why I know why some people have their place that they have in my head Right Eminem is one of the best rhymers you will ever hear there is he vibes better than the vast majority of people that attempt to do it It's just that simple, but there are you will listen to some of his words And it's like all right this ain't really like I'm not trying to hear this but he did it well like this this doesn't really work for I was listening to a fucking a relapse album and Because I'm thinking back to like how much I actually got shit well I had to remind myself that I will automatically put myself into a certain listening mood depending on listening to So it's like all right cool that this is what we're gonna do When I'm listening to relapse I get why people like relapse the accents are overdone It's The accents are fucking atrocious. I'm not even done well He doesn't waste too much yeah, but that's I don't listen to rap for your accents No, that's not what I do particularly sometimes I know already there's extremes on either end so absolutely in the middle I don't care about that shit, but if you're falling extreme I fully there's you'll never hear excuse from me for those fucking accents that they're atrocious They should not and first time of the songs it makes sense No, that's what I'm saying for some of the songs it makes sense It absolutely needs sense Yo, yo, yo, we won't get to that I don't like that say I don't like that say I don't calm down Be calm down I actually agree with that take what we want to talk about I'm looking at your face All right, so back so back to the ether shit There is no way that I'll put it like this we can get we can get this now He says he thinks it was a tie.
Here's the thing I listen I'm a huge fan of battle rep in battle rep in anything that is subjective Yes, any any competition that is subjective, right? You are entitled to feel The thing about it though is there is a such thing as consensus There is a such thing as consensus and the consensus again take over take over didn't become the verb for body Oh my god, you want to disrespect that that distinction goes to ether the culture says no I was one that yes, no, I was one that and and when evident like you said before about how they took the name of that song In a verb yeah, you know, ether All right, so you respond to either were super ugly super ugly is terrible horrible. Yeah, and all that did was accent Right how good was by how good ether was super ugly was No, no, no, no, no one that should have been a success We went to came after either May possibly not have one JZ battle right now's probably with that animal I She's a black girl also Show you only five I'm a bill on my life We can see I was not losing Trying to help me But I'm not losing Even in this seat There's a story That's enough for me That line right there He's killing out of Use that line You didn't even defeat Cause I said damn Yo, you're in the Fuck it up You're in the You're in the You're in the You're in the You're in the That's your What? I said Yo, this is the one Yo, I'm not Yo, it's Jay Z Potessio, you know And I don't think It wasn't released It wasn't single, was it?
Just one of the CD And here's the thing Yo, that was a D-cut Honestly, Ether is Ether Again, I spent time We spent minutes hyping Ether up I think Blue Prince You might be the perfect This soul And the reason I say that is Because he lays shit out He explains his position He explains his self Like this is what y'all see Which I'm not paying attention It was actually happening This is what I do What he did was Like what I like When niggas is actually like talking to niggas Yeah, fuck that man No, no Legitimately And that verse you hit him with a U-S-S Yeah, I would That You know what I'm saying? Black girl And black girl And then you make It's only you for I just like Yo, that's the other thing I'm a reason that make this To me one of the top tier D-dissas Is the same reason why I always Say that elo coujes to the Break of dawn Offered the house party Soundtrack is one top tier D-dissas Because not only did he take a verse out to talk man shit That was just one verse Yeah Big rappers very well Yeah, one song And the top MC Hammer got in the fuck out of here I see Got in the fuck out of here It was to the point where Oh, Kumo D got in the fuck out of one song A very few Like But that's what That's what's over was Yeah, that's what it's About Part of G and all the niggas So yeah I got a chill man But that's what we looked at It was an ether man Oh and I agree Pop should apologize niggas Just ask his But That was not a tie No I'm sorry I'm so sorry You know what I'm saying That's not a tie I'm saying It blew print too It came instead of super ugly Yeah We have a different conversation But super ugly was not a great Unbelievable I leave the condoms on your baby's car Yeah I heard niggas try Because you know who You know who Let's keep that between me And you know what That's how you leave that You don't now expand upon it You literally just say Let's keep that between me You And you know what You know who That's how you leave that You don't now expand upon it I was talking about. Right, we should not talk for you. Right.
I guess we'll go ahead and take some emergency. That was the guy's shit in the first place. You should have just said that already in the beginning. Thanks.
Yeah. All thanks. He's a rapper. He can find a reader.
Yeah, but what I'm saying is, what I mean when I say it was take over, I'm not coming with the lines, I'm not going to bars. I mean, being that the thing about take over that I like was it was at the same time so and direct. Yeah. He said that.
It was a distance. You know what I'm saying? It was good enough for a single. Yeah.
It was good enough for a single. Yeah. It was a single. Yeah.
Take over was a single. Gosh, not the window with ether though. I'm like, yo, this is like what Joe said. Yo, Joey said yo, you know what's nice?
We could take all the gloves off and you could be honest. I feel like that's how now it's like, yo, now I can be on awesome shit. Yeah, but at the end of the day, the fact is the way he knows that he cemented that as the dis-song. Yeah.
And there are numerous versions of this song in hip-hop that have become legendary. No fascinating. No fascinating. Legend, legend, legend.
Hit him up by pop. Legend, legend, legend. Oh, this is a bunch of, yes. A bunch of, yes.
A bunch of, yes. A bunch of, yes. But ether became the verb. Yeah.
That's, that's, you just got ether. But also the lesson that ether should teach most MCs. And I see that it hasn't. Because we just saw Roy school through that same shit.
Everybody has a punch of chance. If the guy can rap rap, you may not have seen him dis-anybody before on that level, but he has a punch of chance because he actually has skill. And if you sit up and slip if you want, sleep on him if you want, he slipped that punch in. Oh.
Okay. And if anything about it is, Mickey's awesome. Yeah. In the current, in the current generation.
Yeah. So I don't know why. I'm not quite sure. I think I know what it is actually.
Feubers. Oh, yeah. But no, I think what it was like you said Roy says we get in Mad props, especially in the, this part of his career, later part of his career because he was kind of overlooked before this people were with him here and you know, you want to ems a little bit of whatever, but he started getting props and celebrated for what he was bringing to the table with songwriting. The concept he hits all of that stuff.
And I think it went to his head and he forgot that Mickey battled and didn't do bad. He lost. He was not. He did not do bad.
He body day like all he body day like body them. So it's like, I think he didn't. This people need to stop dumb shit. I'm like, no, fuck that.
No, Joe. You need that. No, Joe, listen, I love you, bro. You're wrong about this one.
