Good morning, Americans. It's Friday. Continuing to do cleanup for Hurricane Milton that just came through here last week. But now the cleanup is all inside the house.
I got a new mailbox today. I have to put that together. I'll do that after the podcast. And then I have to go get a bag of quickrete.
Now, what do you do? You have to buy a whole bag of quickrete, right? You dig the hole. I've done this before.
I'm not asking you what to do. I've done this many times. And then you dig the hole, put the thing in there, get it nice and level, and you pour some quickrete in there. And then you add a little bit of water.
And then you put soil on top of that so the grass can grow and it looks all nice and wonderful. But, but, you're only using—oh, by the way, welcome to The Daily Grateful. I am Michael Cross, and we're going to talk about something else. But this just came into my mind because Amazon delivered the mailbox today.
But anyway, but you have the rest of this bag of quickrete. I will tell you from my experience, living in Florida, where the humidity is like, you know, it's a lot. Once you open a bag of quickrete, that's it. It's done unless you're going to keep it in an air-conditioned room, which I'm not.
So you have to use the whole bag or throw it away. It's just, you know, the next day you're going to come out and you've got this giant brick, is what you call it. I remember, you know, my former wife, I put in a mailbox. We used a little bit of the quickrete.
She said, what am I going to save it? I said, it's not going to last. She stuck it out in the shed. And two days later, it was like a brick.
She goes, can you get rid of this thing? Sure, be happy to. So I've been, you know, I kind of, what I'm going to do tonight is I'm going to go on TikTok and I'm going to type in fun things to do with your extra quickrete and see if I can make an art piece. Won't that be nice?
Anyway, today, what I wanted to talk about is just something really interesting. Last night I went to a board of directors meeting for the Tampa Bay Technology Center and we were going to have this big celebration, 40 years celebration in October, but we had to cancel it because of the hurricane. And last night I said, I think we should do it, you know, on the second Saturday in November. And everybody thought that's a good idea.
How do you get the publicity? I said, let me worry about that. So then I came home and they're all looking at me like, how are you going to do this? I came home and I went on ChatGPT.
I've been studying a lot about ChatGPT. Okay, I've been studying a lot. And by the way, if you want to learn more, look up a guy named Tony Wycliffe, just like it's spelled. Look him up on Google.
He's my guru when it comes to ChatGPT. I've been to several of his seminars, but ChatGPT is relatively easy to use. But anyway, what I said is I said, please write a news release. I said, or I said, please research.
Yeah, that's a very important question because ChatGPT 4.0, which is the newest version, has the ability to go on the internet and do research. That's kind of cool. And I said, please research. And I gave him our club's website.
And I said, and any other source you can find and write a news release for all of the television stations and all of the newspapers to announce our, you know, big anniversary celebration on that Saturday from 11 to 3. And that's all I did. And then boom goes the dynamite. This thing, I swear, it is it is I'm looking at it now.
It just put this whole thing together for immediate release. Tampa Bay Technology Center celebrates 40 years of innovation for the community. Anyway, anyway, they just go into this whole thing and they did the research talking about the innovation of the club and, you know, be there for a fun filled day and all this. And it has event highlights and event details and all of this stuff that it just wrote out and it says about the Tampa Bay Technology Center founded in 1984.
The Tampa Bay Technology Center is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting and educating technology. Anyway, all of them. And then, then I wasn't done yet. I said to ChatGPT, I said, oh, thank you so much.
Could you please make me a list of all of the Tampa Bay media contacts, including television stations and newspapers? And sure enough, here's an updated list with the mailing address to all of the Tampa Bay media outlets. Has it all like right there in everything, websites, the newspapers, everything right there. Then I said, well, that's nice.
Would you please create a spreadsheet of all of this information? And it said, sure. And it made me an Excel spreadsheet just like that with all of the names and addresses of all the media outlets. So tomorrow, because I had to send this off to all the board members for their approval and they all said, yes, yes, yes, it's wonderful.
Just do it, do it, do it. So tomorrow I will print these all up and I will put them in envelopes and I will have, I'll do a mail merge to where my printer will print out all of the envelopes, print out all of the news releases, and I'll send those all out and hopefully a television station or two and maybe a newspaper will be interested in doing an article. That's all I did. And yeah, it's very professional looking.
It looks outstanding, as a matter of fact. So, you know, gosh, that is, that is just like so good. Now, let me give you some hints on how you can use ChatGPT for yourself. There's some important things that you can do.
First thing, ask a specific question of it. Don't be vague. Be very specific. Provide context.
Like I talked about the club. I gave the club's, I put the club's website in there and it said exactly what I want. Ask for step-by-step guidance. If you are, you know, ask ChatGPT to help you with this.
Use follow-up questions. Request examples or templates. Seek creative input. ChatGPT does this really, really well.
I think you will be thrilled with it. I'm thrilled with it. I like it a lot. Well, it's been a fun week and everything's back to normal next week.
