Tips to improve debugging skill
from nepalicodelabs · host Dipen Lama
In the episode I am talking about debugging and how to improve your debugging skills. Beside Coding another common attribute of programmer is their ability to debug code. Debugger is good friend of the programmer; it can walk you through each step in your program and unleased what's happening behind scene. It helps to pin point issue at particular point in the program. Debugger is a tool that run targeted program in a controlled condition that allows the programmer to track each and every operation. It monitors changes variable, call stack, and evaluate expressions. By using debugger efficiently, we can quickly pin point the issue in our code and then apply the fix. A programmer should always try to improve the debugging skills and get better in them. I am going to share some of my thoughts that will help in getting better at debugging. 1. Reproduce the bug before changing the code 2. Deal with stack traces 3. Don't make assumptions on breakpoints 4. Learn from logs 5. Go back in time
