Organizer TJ Fitzgerald of NEPA Republicans told WILK that the event with Kyle Rittenhouse planned in Luzerne County has been cancelled as of Friday morning. Fitzgerald said the constraints on the event made it not feasible under the terms of an updated contract with Rittenhouse’s representatives, including the number of police officers, a liability policy and bomb squad members, which he said couldn’t be pulled together in a week. “I just don’t think anything should be canceled,” Fitzgerald said. “I’m not fantastic about the cancel culture,” he stated. “It’s a sad day in NEPA that this happened." He blamed a “small minority” for the event’s cancelation. Ticket holders and sponsors will receive a refund, he added.
