VANDENHEUVEL VICTORIOUS AT HOUSTONIAN INVITATIONAL AUGUST 12, 2008 Brought to you by Morgan Stanley and Nike Golf BOYS 12-18 With several college coaches in attendance, Kevin VandenHeuvel, Houston, TX, 2009 shot a final round 7-under 65 which included 6 birdies on the front nine to light up the Houstonian Golf & CC and take the title by one shot over Brax McCarthy, Fort Worth, TX, 2010 who shot 69-70 for a two-day total of 139. Vandenheuvel sat four shots back after his opening 73. The remainder of the top five looked like this: John Duke Hudson, Sonora, TX, 2009 71-72-143 Brian Smith, Corpus Christi, TX, 2010 72-72-144 Nicko Dodd, Sugar Land, TX, 2009 72-73-145 GIRLS 12-18 Lakareber Abe, Angleton, TX, 2014 shot 81-74-155 and then found herself in a playoff with Christina Cantu, Houston, TX, 2010 who posted scores of 80-75-155.
