TJGT Red River Challenge Recap

from TJGT Radio · host TGJT Radio

TJGT takes home the cup in the 2007 Red River Challenge! The TJGT held on to its Day One lead capped by some very impressive performances on Sunday to clinch the Red River Challenge being played at the historic Dornick Hills Country Club in Ardmore, Oklahoma. The TJGT won 12 to 8 and holds a slight edge in the all-time series 2 to 1 over the OJGT. This Perry Maxwell designed golf course is also the home of the Maxwell Collegiate, the premier college event in the region. Although this par-70 golf course only measures 6,453 yards from the back tees, the small, lightning fast elevated greens and narrow, tree-lined fairways make this course one of the most challenging tracks any golfer could play. This event features the best players from the TJGT and Mexico playing against the best players from the Oklahoma Junior Golf Tour in a high school team format. Players from six states and Mexico teed it up in this nationally ranked Golfweek event that was attended by several college coaches. The weather both days was absolutely beautiful and helped make this event one to remember. All boys played 6,453 yards and all girls played 5,563 yards.
