Ground was broken virtually in October 2020 on what will be Singapore's first electric vehicle (EV) manufacturing facility, slated for completion in late 2022. Occupying a 44,000-m2 footprint, it consists of a seven-story, 28,000-m2 building that Hyundai Motor Group says will implement "the latest Industry 4.0 technologies" (AI, IoT and robotics) in EV production. "TKE Singapore is proud to be associated with this iconic project where two engineering giants — one specializing in horizontal and the other in vertical transportation — come together with the common goal of serving society and caring for future generations by [prioritizing] the green revolution and [addressing] climate change," Ahamed said.
