TL230 - The Flash - S9E01 - Wednesday Ever After

The Waverider has landed in Central City. Our band of Hero Hosts are here to report on all we saw. The episode picks up right after the events of last year's season finale.  Barry & Iris have enjoyed some well needed time off and are about to head back to their jobs. But things are not well in the marriage. They are not talking and sharing their feelings. Barry has made a book of all of the informaiton he has learned about the future. He sees it as a roadmap to keep them on track and safe. But Iris sees it as shackels. She has no free will and no way to deviate.  The all new Captain Boomerang is stealing an energy device from a mobile particle accelerator. Thanks to his tech he is more than a match for Barry. He escapes and Barry blows it off. But something happened. Both Barry & Iris awake to find out the day is repeating. Barry is killed in the next encounter with Boomerang. Barry & Iris reset and this pattern loops over an over with no way out. After a good Poppa Joe talk, Barry sees that the book is ruining the marriage. He and Iris determine to work through the events of the day together. They do it on their own terms. With Iris working with Sue to buy another paper. Barry accepts the Chief of the CSI's job. Barry enlists Iris to stop Boomerang. They burn the book and the loop breaks. They decide to focus on their marriage and have the honeymoon they deserve.  We find out Boomerang is working with Red Death, a speedster setting out to end The Flash. We also see that Caitlin & Mark's work did not recreate Frost. It created a new person who is not Caitlin or Frost.
