TMJ 085 How EXACTLY I Became A Doctor

from TMJ Show - TheMDJourney Podcast

I talk a lot about getting into med school, USMLE Step 1, 2, & 3, studying, life of a medical resident, how to become a medical doctor and the general M.D. Journey, but I haven’t discussed how exactly I became a doctor.I started thinking about a career in medicine when I was younger. I thankfully did not have any major medical issue, but people close to me did. The impact of seeing what a doctor can do in helping someone I cared about, left a lasting impact in me to consider it.As of this video, I am currently a 2nd year internal medicine resident. How I got from being the kid seeing what physicians can do to where I am right now took a lot of time, money, sacrifice and effort. I look back and think about how the tests I took, the money I spent and hours I used led up to where I am going. My journey to becoming a doctor started in high school where I fought for the grades I needed to get into a good college and major. The student loans I had even with scholarships were discouraging, but I did get even more financial help. The different extra-curricular activities that allowed me to learn more hard and soft skills as well as shore up a great resume for med school took a lot of energy. Now, I am done with med school, paying off a significant amount of med school debt, finished all 3 USMLE exams from Steps 1-3, and finally getting paid and continuing to carve out my medical career. I think it was and continues to be all worth it.The path to becoming a doctor isn’t always a romantic one. Some people only see the high salaries, treating and helping the sick, and our lack of sleep. Those can all be a part of a doctor’s story, but how you get there can vary significantly. Not everybody’s debt is all the same. Some give up their social lives until after medical school. And it’s possible to go through all of that and think that medicine isn’t for you. Luckily for me, while there were and still are challenges ahead, I am grateful that it’s been working out and looking ahead to the future of my M.D. Journey! So check out how I got my M.D. in this latest episode of the TMJ Show!Hope yall enjoy! My MED SCHOOL Student Loans 💰 https://bit.ly/2YFwzbYHow Much Doctors Make In The USA https://bit.ly/3qefxxiHow Much Does A Resident Doctor Make https://bit.ly/2BNbX8ZEmail Me: [email protected]'t forget to help our new project grow by subscribing on iTunes or your favorite podcast platform!Give us a Rating & Review to be entered for a weekly giveaway for a free eBook or Video Course!Subscribe to us onApple PodcastSpotify PodcastGoogle PodcastStitcher PodcastDisclosure: This description contains affiliate links which means I may get a commission if you make a purchase through my link at no additional cost to you.
