From the explosion of classics like "Cissy Strut" and "Hey Pocky A-Way" for Allen Toussaint’s label, to session work with Dr. John, LaBelle, Paul McCartney, and Robert Palmer, the Meters are the gold standard. George has gone on to work with a stellar list of artists including David Byrne, Tori Amos, and John Scofield, as well as all-star groups the 7 Walkers, Voice of the Wetlands, and his own Runnin’ Pardners.
