He first became obsessed with keyboards at 4 years old after seeing Herbie Hancock perform "Rockit" on Sesame Street, and was averaging two gigs a week by age 10. Coming to New Orleans in 2007 to play on a Galactic side project with Simon Lott, he quickly found a welcoming music scene and a full calendar of gigs.
