TMYJ | Dr. Ed Weisbart - The Fight For Universal Healthcare

from Tell Me You’re Joking · host Tell Me You’re Joking | Gaslight Studio STL

Everyone wants a Dr. who loves the Beatles. Meet Dr. Ed Weisbart!!! This Chicago native spent his early working days growing a family practice that helped form his viewpoint on healthcare in America, and resulted in a fight he continues to this day.  Dr. Ed Weisbart is the national board secretary and MO chapter chair of Physicians for a National Health Program, a non-profit non-partisan organization of more than 25,000 physicians and other health care advocates in support of a publicly financed, nonprofit, single-payer national health insurance program that would fully cover medical care for all Americans. This is one of the most important conversations I have personally had on the subject. Having lost my entire childhood family to a multitude of different failures in our healthcare system, Dr. Weisbart helps present a glass-half-full outlook on what is transpiring, the wins over institutional for-profit healthcare providers, and implies we are closer than we think to a true healthcare for all landscape. #universalhealthcare #healthcare #chicago #thebeatles #edweisbart #jbanderson #singlepayer #insurance
