They're building... Oh! I'm trying to remember what the mime film I've always used to say. Birth.

I don't remember. Shut up. Oh. Ha ha ha ha.

I've never stopped! That's not the answer to me! That's not the answer to me! Never mind I have to answer the question.

I think I was at one point in shit. I think I was at one point in shit. That's funny. That's still funny.

I was a kid that opened still. I mean, hey. That's always interesting to me when Optimus can't see where the Optimus... Yeah.

Yeah! Yeah! What up, buddy? What up, buddy?

And that's why I always, that's why I always tent mine with I am a pessimistic realist. Not a realistic pessimist. Right. I'm a pessimistic realist.

Yeah. Because I've realized how fucking shitty this place is. Like, things don't, like you're told coming up in one way or another, whether it's directly or not, that things tend to be okay. Yeah.

And to a certain extent, that's true, but things don't tend to just be good. Right. Things tend to be okay. A lot of the people that do tend to lean towards things tend to be okay.

All the people that tend to be okay for. Exactly. If you live in a first world nation, for you, a lot of the times, things will tend to be okay. There's a bottom level of okayness, right?

And once you get below that level of okayness, that's what shit is heinous. Right? If you go in some other countries that don't really have some of the same things, maybe their shit has been ripped apart through colonialism, stealing their resources, destabilization of their governments and shit like that. Right.

It ain't okay for them. No. No. And I think too, sometimes I think I've been just blinded by the fact that they're in a specific situation or that won't really, that makes it very difficult for shit to get super heinous for them.

You know what I'm saying? Like it can get worse than it was. Yeah. But it like, if you go to the top of the world with the best job ever, then good ass money all of a sudden you'll eat the fuck off.

Even when you get laid the fuck off, there's my employment insurance, there's other people that don't have options. You'll be like the most important word. Exactly. Yeah.

I think that has a lot, a lot to do with that. But I know when I was a kid, I didn't see other places. I just saw this. Sure.

And also my standard for what was dope was a lot less. The bar was a lot lower because I was poor. So we've eaten. Hey.

Hey. It was a good day. It's a good day. It was like, well, I got two things for Christmas.

Hey. You know what I'm saying? I think I got two fucking fucking stuff. I got two fucking shoes this whole year.

What? Yeah. You ain't telling me shit. You know what I'm saying?

I'm saying, that's how that was. It wasn't until, we talked about it before too. It wasn't until, um, y'all know, it starts to how other people live. Yeah.

And you contrast it with their bottom of your bottom. Right. Their top of your top, right? Right.

And then, like, if you start doing that, like, well, you just start seeing shit that you were not, you did not have access to see before. And that's not that like, that's where my shit came in. I still have an access to shit that I didn't have access to. See or engaging at all.

And I went, hey, it's all right. Right. I was like, what the fuck? Okay.

I was crying about that other shit. Like, this right. That's right. Oh, thanks.

You know, it's, uh, it's great. It's hard not to, it's hard. Two things are very difficult for me. The more than I find out about the world.

It's hard not to feel like an outlier. Yes. It's hard not to feel what's the best word. It's hard not to feel to have like the beginning glimpses of a superiority complex.

Yes. That's a fact. That's because it's like, there are certain things morally that to me is like, well, I was just eating the choice. Yeah.

That shouldn't be an argument. Yo, bro. And I've had that epiphany numerous times, but no, none more than I would say the last couple of years. I see certain choices people make that I think, from my experience, base level morality would have precluded you, not to make that choice.

Bro. Or, or to have that take. Base level. I'm not talking Dalai Lama, you know, that's a talk around.

I'm talking basic morals that humans tend to agree on most of the time. You know what I'm saying? Yeah. That would have precluded you from having the stake or taking that action or doing some shit and we all fall.

And anger, anger can cause you to do shit that you ordinarily wouldn't do. That's the reason they can cause you to do. I ain't even talking about that. I'm talking about some of these motherfuckers, man.

Clear minded decision making. Clear minded decision making. And they decided that. Yeah.

And it's like, why was this a choice? Why did you even, did they get mad when they talk to talk of red flags? It's talking about the right, like this is what they're talking about, bro. Right.

And the only one that doesn't have that has a problem with that is people who display red pants all over the kids. That's all that's cool. That's hard facts. Like, I don't know, man.

Like I feel so alone sometimes. I know. That particular thing, like even even conversations with some of the other closest people to me, like they might say a thing where I'm like, wait, what? Why?

But you and again, you're not talking about something that's fact based. You're like basic morality. Yeah. It's like, yeah, I do an example.

It's not that specific of an example, but it's literally happened yesterday. We were in a group chat. We were talking, a fat brought up something that happened. It was stupid.

Shouldn't have put fucking happened. Right. And the person who was responsible, he said something about, we can, I want the same side of this particular conversation. Right.

And he was like, we're sorry. I'm not sorry. I'm not sorry. Wrong as wrong.

Yeah. He said it depends on who it is. I said, no. That's not.

That's not. No matter who you are wrong as wrong. It might depend on the situation. Yeah.

It's the situation where I'm going. You are? No. No, no, no, no.

Right. I get it. If you look in general, lying as wrong. Yeah.

But if you are hiding a slave family that tried to escape in the basement and the slave catchers come to the house and say, hey, you got this in here? Right. In this case, lying is not immoral. No.

We are factoring all of that in. Exactly. All of the situations that I've in, and I still see my fucking sport, not in a situation that demands for them to twist the morality rules on the table. Still not being moral.

Still having an immoral ticket is like, what am I kidding? It's this, it's, it's, and I recently had a conversation trying to explain this and it's hard. Certain things, this is like never be a teacher, right? Because my comprehension skills are pretty hard.

My explanation skills are not that great. No. Like it's so much easier for me to explain. Like I had a very similar conversation to this with you, which one I have.

It's so much easier for me to explain to you because you already agreed. Right. That's right. It's got somebody who doesn't see it.

It's, yo, now, to be honest, I'm not sure. Like I'm sure there are, of course there are people that are good at it. Good at that part of it, right? But even with that, so much of that depends on the ability of the other person to understand what you're saying and be open to what you're saying.

What up, random? It's so much of that, those conversations, which is the number I don't get into a lot of them anymore because I spent a long time doing that shit. And to be honest, my experience personally in it, either I'm not great at that part or people are going to, they're going to want to believe what they want to believe. That's absolutely subjective.

What I'm really getting at is I've long stopped arguing is not the right word as far as intensity, but I've long stopped going back and forth with people in order to change their mind. Right. This isn't like I'm not concerned with changing your mind because you are an adult. Your kid, I'll try to reason if you each want to write past different.

Yeah, you're an adult. In most cases, mostly the adults I speak to are older than me. So you have more life experience in certain things. You know how you came up in order after this, but it is not my job.

It's not my job to increase what you're saying. And it would be, it's a bit pretentious for me to believe that I should. I say that all the time too. So the conversation I was having, it's like it just didn't get, it wasn't like, I was not, I was talking strictly about myself.

So there was no decision like mind change possible. And then I was explaining like the way that I look at things and how, and how I can, and what I consider to be judgment judgment is just observation. Right. I know that there is a negative connotation to the word.

Everybody makes judgments to act like you don't. It's kind of your line to yourself. So everybody else do that way. So everybody else.

Right. So if I see some shit that I'm like, I can't imagine, let's go put it. I see some shit where it's like, I cannot imagine me being in that scenario and making that decision. Yeah.

Yeah. You could not, you could not make me do what that person did in that situation. My integrity, I guess, does not, would not allow me to do that particular thing. Yeah.

Yeah. It would be the fuck I'm not guilty. Guilty, bro. That's actually the same issue I have with people purposely spreading like misinformation.

It's like my morality sees that as like literally one of the worst things you can do, particularly if you have a voice where a lot of people, a lot of people, a lot of people, a lot of people follow me say like for you to purposely, but misinformation, I'll misrepresent something. It's one thing if you do it, I ask that you generally believe this thing you're saying is true. Right. I don't judge you for that because all of us at one time, I never have generally believed something that wasn't true.

Yeah. But even with that, there's a lot because once you are shown that it's not true. Yeah. When I see you go back to that same shit, I then make judgments.

Yeah, it's not true. You were shown that that's not true. Right. So we're back to that shit right there.

And this is the other reason why when I see people, people really really shit all the time. Right. You see it. I just always am very cautious about shit I'm willing to share on my public page because of that because if I'm just the truly vetted, I'm not sharing it.

And it's like people will share it. I'll carry it out for me. If I'm asking. Yeah.

Yeah. That's a caveat. The other caveat is somebody goes, I don't know if this is true, but I'm sorry. All right.

So they already made a quote on there saying, Hey, I'm not certain about this at all. Yeah. So that means I'm willing to be wrong about it. Yeah.

When you told that this is wrong. But I see people just post up with no explain it. No context. No.

The most innocuous, prevalent one that I've seen is the Facebook is about charging people for such a such a such a such a you need to do this. And well, I see that. Why do you think this is the case? Why?

So what? But I get that they're a company. So false. Bow ends is a very attractive to the people who don't like to think critically.

But you think that you are thinking critically, you think, okay, this is a business. Businesses have to make money somehow. You aren't aware of the other ways that they make money. When you're thinking, Oh, shit.

Well, we use this for free now. How can they offer the service for free? They must need to start charging us in order for them to make money. And then you have people like fucking Elon Musk who don't help that perception because he's literally tried to do the same thing.

Yeah. And then they will they will they will complete. Right. So my man is up going over here, but the reality of this situation is a lot of that could have been solved from the jump.

If you just knew how they made money in the first place. If you knew how they made. First of all, they already billions and billions and billions of dollars. Like your funky ass opinion.

No, your funky ass pictures of your things given. Right. Right. I charge you for that.

And also what they've been taking from you to make that money is more and more important than your little dumb ass pain right here. I'm thinking market data, the shit you're interested in. All of this personal shit. And you signed it away.

So you can't even say that they stole that and then you know, like they literally because it's all cause of the post if you play on you play to human nature, a lot of the times you're going to make out because it's human nature. If they see a wall of text, they're not going to read that whole thing. And then they make it. They didn't expect.

So you're not going to read that whole thing. But you don't hear because you do want to talk to your cousin Fran and all of you. You ain't seen a lot of time and what's the name Melissa and now that you went to school with. They say you want that experience.

Right. So fuck it. Yes. Yeah.

They got you. Too late. It's too late, bro. I said it while I was in the house.

Oh shit. I was really, really just that. Let me do the central. No.

That this point. We're well past. We're well past the point of the video. Well past the point of no return.

You're damn near 20 minutes. So yeah, ladies and gentlemen, another rousing episode of the Black Call to Geeks. So for those who have heard this is our last live show. So we've met it till another year then.

To those who don't know, this is the last live VCG's episode for the year. We will be back live the first Saturday, 2020. Why is the last one for the year? Oh well, with so much going on for both of us between now and then.

Actually, we got a lot of that. That first episode. We're most likely not having any new topics because it'll just be a lot of us fucking. Yeah.

Today's main topic is reflection. So first of all, I would like to say. Thank you guys. I've said this only before, but this is the longest running, most consistent, creative outlet that I've ever had.

Yeah. Thank you guys for justifying it. It's not super difficult to do, but there are still sacrifices that Tim and I both make in order to keep the strength running. And you guys make all of that worth it.

It's cathartic, it's fun. Obviously a part of that is being able to do it with one of my best friends. But it's also you guys being around, especially those who contribute to the live chat. If I had one request for the non-live audience, it would simply be to comment a bit more, because I would like to have a bit more community if you guys.

Yes. A community. Yeah. Especially after I just looked at this Spotify, right?

But it's yeah, which we're going to give into a little bit. That thing said, I feel like I could make my job just a tad bit harder. I have a couple of ideas in mind. Here's what happens with changes generally to the podcast, when they take longer or don't happen when announced.

It's because it's a weekly thing. Right. And there are other things going on in life. It's really difficult because outside of the audio issues that will pop up every now and then, we mostly have everything dialed in with the show.

And certain changes would require testing in order to be implemented. So and that will take more time. On top of that, as some of you, a very small percentage of you may have noticed, Tim is the editor-in-chief of this conic book company. That's pretty damn good.

I'm laughing at Vermo. That's pretty hard behind my mic. Well, as you can see, my viewing window is not that large. I've never broke that up.

I've never explained why. So the reason why my view is so zoomed in is because Chrissy and I are not quite rearranged. But I moved some shit around in this corner. And one of the things that I did was move the desk further away from the wall.

Because now I have so much space back here. The problem with that is this room is still only in three dimensions. So the camera can't be but so far back. So that's and it's in a weird situation where like, it's I moved the desk far enough away from the wall that the 16 would show stuff I don't want to show.

So I have used the 50. But the 50, I can't move the camera back any further. So I'm kind of in this stupid situation. What I don't know what you can do.

That's all I can do. We can knock that wall out. Listen, that wall that you got right there? No, we can knock that wall.

That's a little very wall. It's general walking that I've dealt with. We'll knock that wall on the other side. We got your TV up there.

We don't need Mr. Gorbachev to do anything. We're fine. We're fine.

So yeah. It was knocked down. So yeah. So yeah, a team has a situation where he's the editor-in-chief of a cargo company.

And it's encompassing. What up this court? Well, I can't firm because I don't own this place. So I know what some people might be thinking, OK, I'm the producer of the public case.

What does him being editor-in-chief have to do with that? Well, I do a light bit, light bit, just a little bit of consulting. But more prevalent is the fact that I'm one of the people tasked with giving him something to edit. So that's correct.

What's happened with it, as clearly somebody has noticed, based on a different Spotify I wrote than the one I referenced earlier. I've been writing up on the musical industry here, so that takes a lot of time. But I think I'm slowly about to start entering a space where life might be a bit more organized. So that should help.

Right. But that should be, that should help a little bit. A little bit. Two, do you have any personal highlights and reflections from the last year that was Black culture geeks?

Yeah, sure. Have a few. One of the things, of course, is like, like S.B.J. just said, this has been the longest running for him content, but for me, the podcast.

But I am experiencing the podcast field. I've had several ones before. A lot of those tapped out at like the 10th episode or some shit like that. Some of them with different formats than this.

But you know, podcast nonetheless, this has been the longest running podcast I've ever been the most consistent. And I would argue other than Geek it Ain't Easy, the most brand consistent. Where it ain't consistent. You know, so as a result of that, I'm proud of it.

And when we do have our Saturday morning show, I make sure that that I mentally prepare for it because I'm doing the course of the week shit happens. And you're not going to off your game. This is one of those years, right? A lot of things happen in this year going on this year.

And sometimes it was a struggle to be able to make the Saturday one bigger. The shit that was happening during the course of the week. One thing for certain though, I would say that a great percentage of the gaffalling I've done in 2023 has happened as a result of this show. Thanks.

Either certain topics we're talking about or you guys in the comments, like you probably don't even know this about yourself. But some of y'all funny as a motherfucker. Seetively entertaining. Right.

You see me entertaining. So the other thing about, but it's a lot of things we wanted to do with this show. We first started it. I feel like this year, we came a long way into doing that.

And what it puts me in mind of is how things where we started, we used to do these little videos and get to promote the show. It was a whole bunch of things. But I feel like in this year, we came closest to capturing a lot of those goals. And there's still quite a few of them that we're trying to get to.

And 2024 is a new year to try to work towards that even more now. But like S.B.J. said previously, there are added things on the plate that make it exceedingly harder to do a lot of this stuff. So it's just about us.

I think this year was the first year for that. Like I said, we run an accountable company and doing the editing of that. There's a lot of work that goes with that. I feel like me being able to handle that and still do the show.

Because sometimes I look right before the show, I'm like after the show, I'm like, do that work. But I feel like me being able to do that is a great indicator of how well adjusted we are at doing this. Yeah. You know what I'm saying?

Because I hold you between getting books made, writing the lore, editing other people's shit, having the meetings about the app that we're still trying to get up and a whole sort of other thing. I'm writing scripts all bunch of shit. But I feel like all of those things will help to serve the show. It's not just the text.

If nothing else, but to give us shit to talk about. Yes. 100%. 100%.

100%. So I feel like going into next year, if those other endeavors continue to get better and be more profitable, kind of hold you. And I know a lot of people don't do this, especially people that come from the spaces I come from, I come from the activist space. So for a lot of them, they feel hesitant to talk about the other endeavors that can get in there, that goes with the money.

They always want to throw a caveat out there. Yeah, you know, because we're doing this because, listen, I love comics. I love comic books. I love podcasts and all that.

Also like money. Thanks. And if this, my creativity can fund my lifestyle, that should be everybody's in the greatest basis goal. Right?

There's no shame. There should be no shame to that. No, my purpose, but for, uh, majestic comics has a lot of goals with that. One of those major goals is to make it profitable so that everybody involved with it can eat off of that.

Right. That's a big goal. Yeah. And same with this.

Black hole sheets. It is still one of my goals. That's the biggest problem. Doing this guy.

And so we all see in the background. And so we all see in the background. It's like palm trees and water and shit. Still on the table.

Other than that, though, I just say that in 2024, we're going to continue to do what we've been doing and possibly elevated even more. So yeah. So for my personal allies, I feel like we're going to be doing this. So for my personal allies, I feel like the sheer time capsule element of the show is a big one for me.

I was looking through some of my old notes. I was playing around a couple of minutes. I was looking at some of my old notes for the show. That's the main reason I type my notes in Google Docs, by the way.

It keeps all of your history. This year, chronicle my relationship with Chrissy. I went through the final stages of this whole group trip planning thing and coming out of that. This is a little bit of an origin story.

I mean, hey, listen. The dissolution of one of my friendships, apparently, I guess, I don't know. This is happening. All this is happening.

Even when I'm not the most transparent on the show about it, and I just hit to it on the show, but anybody who is involved or me listening back will know exactly what I'm talking about. Exactly. Yeah. I like this change so much from 2022 to no.

It's crazy. It's ridiculous. As far as 2020 forces are, I don't really want to say much because of the reasons I mentioned earlier. I'm not sure what that is.

I'll be working on them during parts of this break. What I definitely plan to do and have started already, this isn't a future thing. I've started already is putting up clip shows from this year's podcast. I don't know how long it's going to be.

I don't know how many it's going to be, but I will find this. It'll basically fill the slots where we won't be loved for the rest of the year with however many I make. If I only end up making one, it's going to fill one of those slots. If it ends up being five, they will then spill over into the other days remaining in the year.

We should do that too. We should make a little clip thingies. That was a funny part of the episode. Thanks, bro.

Yeah. So they definitely won't be three hours. Funny enough, this is actually doing the process of doing this is actually easier than the process of making short clips for Victor somehow. I don't know why.

And also spoiler alert, I don't know how many of those is going to make it in, but I have quite a few hot takes from the beginning of this year. I'm not going to make it. Like, I have a context. They're going to say a while.

In the clips, in the clips, I might leave them out of context. Right. Like I said, from the first like three, three episodes, I said something. I said, oh, I understand why people man slain.

Right. I said, I said, these niggas out here being gay. Yup. I said, I'm going to say a context.

I'm going to say a context. It's welcome. It's absolutely wild. Right.

I was playing that with. That's another clip. I was playing that with right now. So basically, I can't remember what Tyler Boo talked about, but it was something, Andrew Pete.

That's the topic we were talking about. And y'all said, bro, it's like, I use the term gay because I can't, I don't know another word that even comes close to the sentiment that I'm trying to express. Basically what I'm saying is a lot of guys don't like women. They do not like women.

I'm not talking about sexual attraction. I'm talking about liking this person. And they be using, all right. So if you, if you have ever been out there in the field of love dating, getting to relationships, you are going to have a bad time at some point where you just hook up with the wrong person.

You might happen quite a few times. If you sit on the porch, you scared to talk to women and that should probably don't happen. But if you somebody is out there and dating after we get in relationship with a bad time, they use those experiences, bro, to color all women. And then when you tell them, yo, that's really kept what you're saying.

They want to assume you ain't been enough, you ain't been, nigga, I have a baby. You ain't been, that's what you've been. And I running around here doing that shit. So, like a one thing, I can't remember what your payroll was.

I was talking about the only real way to not be gays to be an insult. I saw that guy. Like, I just I can't, I don't like women. I'm sorry.

Sorry. Sorry. The best, I would say, the percentage of people that are my friends or close, or associates, women outweigh by a pretty decent margin. Bro, I got a lot of things that every bit of success I've ever had in my 54 years, at least 90% of those things came as a result of the help I got from a one, specifically Black one.

Right. Like, they're entire contributions to the internet from the Facebook posts to the shit they eat, post themselves, or shit that they share from other people, is hating on women. Yeah. I'd be like, yo, what are y'all doing wrong?

Yeah. Y'all broke it. Y'all playing the game wrong. Because that's not how that works.

They broke the game. They broke it. Yeah. Like, legitimately, and I just referenced how different my life is now than it was in 2022.

As far as friendships, like growing the top four are all women. All women. Like, I don't have a, I don't know. And at one point, at one point, I briefly considered, because you know me, I have to try to find a sense of the situation.

At one point, I briefly considered the fact that I was raised by a single mother, but then no, because a lot of these niggas were too. Yeah. Yeah. So, y'all, which by the way, it's funny, it's ironic, it was raised by single-mile.

And at least some of those cases, the men were irresponsible. Megan! It was a fight war. Or even though they were the men they had been having on.

And I was like, I'm not going to say that, because there's a percentage of them where the women made it damn impossible for the men, or made it very uncomfortable for the men. And they still didn't say, I don't give a fuck what you do. This is my kid. This is my kid.

That's what I said. Right. And I don't see myself as any more special anybody else. It's about the will.

Yeah. I refuse to not be. I don't give a fuck what you do. I don't give a fuck what you say what you try to do, who you call, who you get.

I don't care. Those are facts. Facts. Facts.

I don't care. Like, you're not going to cut me out of my kids. I'm going to keep going back and forth. Which I did.

Back and forth. Back and forth. Back and forth. They didn't help by the way.

For a long time. They made the more difficult shit. But, and that mattered to me because I cared enough. So when I see the person that raised y'all, made sure y'all ate, made sure y'all went school and I was born in school, that looked out for you in so many different ways that you can't even chronicle it.

You can't even write down my list of how many ways they helped you. Only to have your maggot ass get up, get up a certain age and then run them down. It's crazy to me. That's crazy to me.

Crazy. That's absolutely ridiculous. I don't quite understand. Like, but part of it is called the dissonance, right?

Because I personally, uh, uh, boom, that's our friends. A pet named Slick Mac, don't do shit for the homies. Let me reiterate, don't do shit for the homies. Listen, I love my male friends.

Outside of that, there's a single thing in my life that I do for the gratification of male. It's not a single thing. Not a single inkling in my mind of, oh, what's such a such one thing? I don't give a fuck.

I'm not here to impress you. I'm not here to show up. I don't care. Bro, those days when you was, that's when he was a kid on the playground and you can do this flip, show them you can do a flip.

I don't give a fuck. Let me tell you, as more evidence to back up what you're saying, though, most of the times my life has increased because of a woman in it somehow, whatever the relationship was, the relationship, the relationship, the whole worker, whatever, right? I look back on my life now and then look back on it back in the day. And I think to myself, that's all right.

It ain't perfect, but it's all right. But guess what? A lot of this does have a lot to do with women helping me. My whole music career, at least the last academic argument, the entire one.

But if we even just talked about the last 12 years, my wife has been instrumental in that behind the scenes. I'm not going to make a struggle the proper way to monetize my shit. Right. The struggle the proper way to market some shit.

Just the administrative things. That's why I've often said, to whom someone dead man is not one person. Correct. You know what I'm saying?

Like, I'm sorry. But I'm old. He's there's nothing. I'm in the middle.

I'm in the middle. I'm in the middle. I'm in the middle. I'm in the middle.

I'm in the middle. I'm in the middle. I'm in the middle. And everybody came and said we only talked about your responses to a lot of it.

But I fired it just over the top. Like, again, I have a day down at night with that. I had to go back and forth. I'm telling myself nothing.

A heartache. None of that. Tell me nothing. You know what I'm saying?

And yet you don't see a large percentage of my own persona being there. What the fuck? I ain't saying it. I don't know that.

I don't like it. Fuck you. Yeah. Yeah.

Cuz you'll want it for no reason. Yeah. What up for you, Thacker? Yeah.

What up what up what up what up I'm sorry for that tangent, but it is what it is man. Listen, um, but yeah Not the fucking take it. I'm a high-ass kid again. I'm context Um, I confirmed the idea of women being gossip Lost like I don't know yourself Wow You gotta hear the context you have to hear the context like oh my somebody literally take those but string them together Oh, so this was actually on the deck it No So the Hollywood reporter now I don't ever go to their website But I do follow them on YouTube because they put out like one or two minute videos about things happening in dentistry Right, right?

Like if it's you know I might be a movie I'm interested in or an actor or director that I'm interested in or whatever case may be and they do a little quick concise piece on whatever the situation is so I think it's an effective way for me to consume news about the fact that I'm interested in so I found them like well, I had been on Twitter I don't found them on Twitter, but I had seen a thing that was that had been going on and it's about Near the cost So also I'm trying to say But I'm specific I was specifically talking about office politics. Yes. I'm Terrible like I was specifically talking about office politics particularly given the case at one point the fact that women Overwhelmingly make up the percentage of office workers versus men. So that's what I it was It was called it was correlation that causation.

That's really what it was So this Confused isn't the right word, but I thought away about this how poorly the marbles did in the box office Well simultaneously being the highest grossing film for African-American what female director it actually says on my bra There's a deconstruction All right, but it was my boss But that said There's a lot in the fact that it didn't gross a lot and on top of that it's still the highest Crazy because I just kept saying like all these I'm saying about it news again because you know the other shit Well the news I was saying about it first was That open better that box office from our old lot of lava And then I just happened to see a picture near the cost that I'm like Oh, that's the woman that directed the models and I looked at the highest grossing. I'm like what yeah So I I'm pretty sure because again, let's we forget that a good a decent amount of the most successful Of the most successful constant creators they Jump on type of things. Yes. Thanks.

So the Harry reporter put out an article Why Marvel's director needed to cost a bail to on the cast and crew screaming? I've had seen that and I'm like Was she mad? And initially I'm like what if I do because I'm thinking like somehow the studio Fuck the audition or whatever case may be and she wants to be something as far away from the reaction possible like that type thing that's what I was thinking initially but then I saw From a black woman I had seen a response It's not goes a little something like At the holly little reporter. Why not answer my question?

Where are all the other articles about directors going to cruise screenings? Y'all are liars. Do not ever request an interview with me again coward. I don't know who she is personally, but she She got 28,000 followers.

So she probably somebody uh So I did a little more digging and but first uh From a black guy he says hey, uh at the person who wrote the article Ask yourself have you ever seen or written an article like this about a white male director You could have kept this garbage click the article the holly word reporter should be above this but clearly they are Um another person says it was her birthday. Why even write this? Yo, you were the holly report not tnc. I feel bad for the social manager Another person Uh your publication is despicable for creating a salacious headline to add to an unwanted smear campaign against near the cost Do better and a screenshot And exit from the fucking article that says according to the rep The pasta had not been invited to the cast and cruise screening only when she invited some crew members to her birthday party Did she learn about the screening and by then it was too late?

Because she already had planes for her birthday And this is a very reasonable explanation, but if you bra if you leave that out and you just say change up there Then cause an assimilation of other things They do colors the entire tone of what you're saying yo the comments continue and I don't think they have responded like I'll think they have addressed this Comes continue what I'm misleading and flander is headline. How many more clicks do you get from the angry comic book? Mired algorithm for throwing a black woman at the bus Another one. Oh, come on.

Did you even read your own article? I mean there's a jit criticism and then there's this kind of weakness Yeah, yeah Twitter, Twitter even That checked the post it says according to near the cost is representative the cost had not been invited to the cast and cruise screening Only when she invited some crew members to her birthday party that she was having the same day Did she learn up the screaming and it sorts is the holly word reporter article? Oh my goodness As the fat check on Twitter. We go in well, this is also part of the reason why too.

I think the movie They do um there has been a sustained Clanderous campaign against balloons for you at this point and some things about certain narratives If there's there's a machine out there that creates them and perpetuates They get going they sit and even people who weren't susceptible to the initial creation of the narrative They hear it and it's so ambient. They take it as a given Oh, this is what we're not actually talking about the movie verm We're talking about the insidious and slanderous way people are addressing. Yeah, that's why that's why I initially stated I didn't like the film. Um, and I was excited to see them I didn't like like they didn't like they didn't get to me They didn't give me enough of the villain to make me just like the villain or feel anyway about right or the honest like it was It was things that I definitely would have written just as a fiction writer things I would have handled way different than that but what they don't like they they tried a few concepts There were a bit high-minded and that's cool, but it never really But it's not like they want some there was some bad-ass spots.

Absolutely right. Right. Shit. Well, time did towards the end bad-ass But I should not be more excited about the extra credits scene.

I mean wait, hold up. Hold up I got a bunch back on that part because they're a bit of amazing fucking post-credits scenes They are but absolutely was more excited about after what the movies I liked. Yes, that's crazy. Absolutely.

They're gonna show me one All right I wasn't more excited about seeing for us hammer at the end bra the one movie that it was then yeah, so that's the beginning of series big week When he came outside start talking about the Avengers in it. Yes, I love that one. Yeah, yeah So that's not it before what up. Yeah, they've done before not always a good portion of time Yes, the movie is more exciting than but a couple times they've been able to play the movie just sounded was a negative reason Greatest scene in the movie And I think you know because in my mind there's enough truth about how that's written.

Yeah to mix with already the people Yeah, I'll be thought about it. Um that had a lot that contributed a lot to this now and what I see I can't tell you what like people like people that like the movie I see it on my time of time You and I have a great different taste in movies that um you we have different expectations and how story should be written How kartas should be portrayed and and at the very last year something about me I don't care if they change certain core things about character Yeah, how the carpet is presented and if you don't you have to give me enough to give it remember we could play I was complaining before a few few years ago about I don't like the speedy Montages how do you know how to use their powers because that big I remember the first time I saw that I didn't like it It was with the spawn movie Was far ahead of suit all of that they had one little train of thing on the rooftop with him and some bottles And then all of a sudden he was a mess over smart. I was like yo, I grew up doing a rocky era Way by the time rocky got to that last fight you was with him. You was like yo, I saw this man train I saw him getting shit together.

I saw him learn how to do this and do that So when the fight came he did all that amazing shit in the fight Was more like yo, yeah I know that's the rest of the day. Um That's why when I talk about movies I make sure to stress How The parts that are subjective and the parts that are objective because you saying that and I thought of the the first for some reason Um, the first example of them doing it a different way they came on my was a hawkeye show because throughout the show They did show her progression. Yes, and I'm and I've instantly thought about all the people that hated that and it's like no I know like it's kind of wild to me like and I like you're supposed to be getting to bra Yeah You're supposed to like not supposed to let me take it but Don't you want to be a part of the journey like the journey is important. I really do I think um the journey of the hero the one of the reasons why that shit has stayed in human culture is because It's powerful.

It's impactful, right? And like ever since back Gilgamesh and Nikita Ever since way back then the journey of the hero is important and if you will abbreviate certain parts and I get for movies Sometimes it can be difficult because you have a window of time in order to get all of this out So you can't get it aside What you want to spend the most time I get that but I feel like when it's obvious If it's so obvious to me that you really just zip past that part It makes me feel a way. It's like You got that good in the fight of third act like you you're doing everything I've known this character to be able to do in the comic books now tv series are different Learning the things I loved about the flesh at least the first few seasons of flesh Is to me it was a textbook um demonstration of how to do A comic book character it had all of the shit the humor the over-the-topness But most of anything you got to see him learn how to do that right right and he creatively made it So he was in situations where he would have to figure out what we got the risk and they even make it a point To talk about his training. Yo, you got a train.

Go. Come on. You got faster. It's that in third That's funny.

That's one of the reasons why I love you. I'm justice so much. Yes the entire first two seasons We're about uh fucking uh, ah, why is his name drawn drawn to play but a dick? Yeah Yeah We're about dick gracing Learning how to be a fucking leader leader.

Yeah, even when you had that that conflict between him and aqualead That's about being a leader because that's aqualead was raised to be a leader He had a full experience or whatever right, you know, right and Robin didn't have that at the time He was the sidekick sidekick at that time The sidekick and throughout that first two seasons he became That role and then yeah see them doing these amazing things. It feels warranted. It feels yeah But if they're here something I think the rush comes with people wanting to pay off super fast, right? Yeah, that's what it is But I feel like if the writer is creative enough he can make the journey entertaining He can all of the whoa I got out of that all of that you can get all of that doing the training too, but it's not the writers creativity and the situations they put in that Like no, it's it's an easy trope to uh to understand Is he what I mean?

If you listen and pay attention to a good portion like the superhero of hero content you will hear the question or the phrase Is he ready? He's not ready? Right? This thing is prevalent Because of what we're talking about yeah, it's because of the very thing we're talking about like that is the major part of these things Is he right when you're ready?

You'll see prepared for this right? Right? So no, I didn't really it's it's the climb up Mm-hmm because the goal of what they're trying to do is so out there. They're climb up It's earned when they win, but he beat that motherfucker at the end and then the crowd looking at the company aren't they?

Looking um distantly off into the rise All right, let's let's get into these weeks these weeks First first things first I took a booster shot That motherfucker laid me down Like and it didn't wait either The day that I took it, I'm good. It's not a week up the next year like Right this time a few hours after I had it. I was like, I'll play on it start now So right I'm down for like a day I started I wonder what I wanted to do was put out a bunch of uh tear rewards nail them out A lot of getting one is an option now That's one week. Um and the reason that I really wanted to get more of the mouth is before I leave to go on this trip Um Thursday.

It's come up on Thursday. Um, I want to make sure I got a lot of those out right because I'm going for me And I won't be shipping anything helping that week Right, right. I really wanted to do that and I still can do it. I still got time to do it, but I had to take that day I take that shit was ass.

It was ass. Um The one thing that I really wanted to talk about with far is my week is One time on this show I came over here and I told all of my folks all the people that watched the show That's not generation x Right not vote for generation x Bountish They're hard I'm gonna Right, right, right so What put more of a point a sharpened end on that point was my experience this week It's all Facebook because I've been liking a lot of nostalgic stuff You tell me the algorithm saw fit to share a group on my timeline Genex Yeah How did they share it in a way that they knew would get me to be interested Memes about cool nostalgic shit from back The movies the cartoons the toys all of that stuff and it's like we've seen it's like you're from my generation and this stuff Your childhood is just presented up there right up there. It's like yo That's what we're gonna be talking about in this group. Um with this shit Okay Go and join the group and like a lot of that was person state.

Yeah Low indeed And Now a lot of them have these prerequisites Before you the exception these things they add questions they ask you that they demand answers Some of the noise stuff was not like it taking a fucking bar exam. I mean none of that shit It's simple things then they introduce you to the rules. These are the rules I saw the rules I answered the questions the rules seem like they made perfect sense These are similar rules that I like from our reaper reaper like group very similar. Okay, don't Except me to the group.

I'm thinking I'm going in there I look at all the memes and stuff. We talk about malls. You know, I'm reminiscing about mall culture a lot recently all of this shit You know about the into Valhalla. I'm talking about the into Valhalla turns out.

No, but no Um, it was a boomer fest now. Let me make some to you guys Inside this very group there were millennials and zoomers. Mm-hmm. No, why?

Because the 80s were fucking cool, man Cool and guess what a lot of these these millennials and zoomers They either got introduced by watching older films or some of the newer films try to integrate 80s culture in there via music And all this other shit clothes all this other shit, right? Mm-hmm. They're innocent in it. They they're nostalgic for it even though they never lived it, right?
