To Be Heard

from Amado Ohland Hosted by Amado Ohland

I'm not sorry for the melody. I know it's not melodic, not coherent. That's just the way it had to be today. One of my teachers, Rhiannon, said that sometimes you need to forget all musical logic and kiss the angels (I paraphrase). That was necessary for today's topic. For today I'm thinking about a realization that my wife got me to, a couple of days ago. The realization that I've got a deep motivation that drives a lot more of my decisions than I'd previously been aware of. A deep need to be Heard. Thank goodness that this deep need has found productive channels. Perhaps my external motivation—to make sounds that are of some benefit to others—is well-served by it. But there it is. I see it now. It's a part of my Nature. And we know what to do with our Nature, right? Put yourself in places where it helps; and, when you find yourself in places where it doesn't, learn how to minimize any harm it could do.
