The Book follows two main characters: Lira, a siren known as the "Princes' Bane" who is tasked with killing human princes, and Elian, a prince who is also a notorious siren hunter and pirate captain. Their paths intersect when Elian rescues Lira from drowning after she attempts to steal a prince's heart.
