Reid ran for the governor of Nevada in 2010 and lost to Brian Sandoval. In 2021, the Las Vegas airport was renamed Harry Reid International Airport in honor of Rory Reid's father. Reid had over one million dollars in his campaign fund when he competed against O'Neil. Ninety percent of the world famous Las Vegas strip is located in District G. O'Neil has been a registered Republican since 2012. He never mentioned once during his campaign that he killed in the military as part of Operation Southern Watch.
