To Know His Name Is to Trust

from Bible Highlights · host Cleandro Viana

To Know His Name Is to TrustVerse: “Those who know Your name trust in You, for You, Lord, have never forsaken those who seek You.” — Psalm 9:10. There’s a huge difference between knowing God’s name and knowing the God behind the name. Many people talk about Him, sing about Him, even post verses online… but deep down, they don’t truly know Him. To know the Lord’s name is to know His character — to experience who He is: faithful, just, patient, loving — even when we don’t deserve it.The psalmist says, “Those who know Your name trust in You.” In other words, only those who have had a real encounter with God can truly trust Him. Because trust doesn’t come from theory — it comes from relationship. You trust the one who has proven Himself trustworthy. And God has proven Himself. When you thought you were alone, He was still there. When everything seemed lost, He held you together somehow. And even when you walked away, He never abandoned you — because that’s not who He is.Maybe today you feel distant, tired, or even disappointed in your spiritual life. But God is calling you back to a place of trust. He wants you to know Him — not just by hearing about Him, but by experiencing Him: in silence, in prayer, in small daily victories, and even in your tears.Because the more you know Him, the more you trust Him. And the more you trust Him, the more peace you’ll find.Today, make a choice: stop trying to carry everything alone. Talk to God like you would to a close friend and say:“Lord, I want to truly know You. Teach me to trust in Your name and to rest in You.”He will not abandon you. He never abandons those who seek Him with all their heart.
