Today marks World Telecommunications and Information Society Day

SAfm — As we commemorate World Telecommunications and Information Society Day; Communication Minister, Stella Ndabeni-Abrahams says government has a responsibility to provide digital access and literacy to all South Africans. She says one of the reasons that there are delays in implementing digital migration or DTT is that a few people have registered to receive the set top boxes. Ndabeni-Abrahams says the Free State will be the first province to switch to digital television this year. She's also says that she optimistic that the SABC will be ready for the migration.
