He got a first-hand look at the game at a young age with his dad, Bert. Todd was a great player in his own right and carved out his own path excelling in high school, college and professionally. Once he finished playing, Blyvleven entered the real world in marketing but eventually found his way back to game through professional scouting with the Angels.
