Together for Good: Helping Families in Crisis

from Theologically Fashioned · host Monica

According to US Deptartment of Health and Human Services in 2022 there were 391,000 children and youth in foster care. While foster care is needed for a multitude of reasons, a major contributing factor is social isolation of the parent. Studies show reducing social isolation by even just one point reduces the risk of children being neglected or abused by 71%.     From April 10th - April 30th Monica will be collecting donations via venmo to create Support Baskets for Mothers in need around the Twin Cities through the organization Together For Good.   Venmo is @Monica-Ritchie-10 Together For Good ***This donation is NOT tax deductable***

C.S. Lewis's The Last Battle St. Philip's Church: Charleston, SC Come join us on Wednesday nights as we explore the riches of C.S. Lewis’s marvelous book The Last Battle, which is the last of The Chronicles of Narnia. It is a remarkable book on multiple levels and was awarded the Carnegie Medal back in the 1950s when it was first published. The Last Battle has some themes in common with The Great Divorce and That Hideous Strength that will make it an excellent follow-up to those two books, and like them, it has some remarkable resonance with things going on in today’s culture. It is a book that is both theologically rich and poignantly beautiful in its writing, and it can help equip us to live boldly for Christ in a culture that has lost its way. (Although this book is the last of The Chronicles of Narnia, it can stand on its own and it is not necessary to have read the other books for this class.)
