Israel was looking for a leader as Samuel stepped into the shadows and Saul descended deeper into his own darkness. God was working. Somewhere outside Bethlehem, keeping watch over his flocks, a young man wrote poetry and sang songs to his God. While everyone else forgot him, God saw him. The very same God sees us as we worship and work today.
