Psalm 40:6-17; Isaiah 48:12-21; Matthew 9:14-17 WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 18, 2023 | EPIPHANYWEDNESDAY AFTER THE SECOND SUNDAY AFTER THE EPIPHANYYEAR A Psalm Psalm 40:6–17 First Reading Isaiah 48:12–21 Second Reading Matthew 9:14–17 Index of Readings PSALMPsalm 40:6–17 6Sacrifice and meal offering You have not desired; My ears You have opened; Burnt offering and sin offering You have not required. 7Then I said, “Behold, I come; In the scroll of the book it is written of me. 8I delight to do Your will, O my God; Your Law is within my heart.” 9I have proclaimed glad tidings of righteousness in the great congregation; Behold, I will not restrain my lips, O LORD, You know. 10I have not hidden Your righteousness within my heart; I have spoken of Your faithfulness and Your salvation; I have not concealed Your lovingkindness and Your truth from the great congregation. 11You, O LORD, will not withhold Your compassion from me; Your lovingkindness and Your truth will continually preserve me. 12For evils beyond number have surrounded me; My iniquities have overtaken me, so that I am not able to see; They are more numerous than the hairs of my head, And my heart has failed me. 13Be pleased, O LORD, to deliver me; Make haste, O LORD, to help me. 14Let those be ashamed and humiliated together Who seek my life to destroy it; Let those be turned back and dishonored Who delight in my hurt. 15Let those be appalled because of their shame Who say to me, “Aha, aha!” 16Let all who seek You rejoice and be glad in You; Let those who love Your salvation say continually, “The LORD be magnified!” 17Since I am afflicted and needy, Let the Lord be mindful of me. You are my help and my deliverer; Do not delay, O my God. FIRST READINGIsaiah 48:12–21 12“Listen to Me, O Jacob, even Israel whom I called; I am He, I am the first, I am also the last. 13“Surely My hand founded the earth, And My right hand spread out the heavens; When I call to them, they stand together. 14“Assemble, all of you, and listen! Who among them has declared these things? The LORD loves him; he will carry out His good pleasure on Babylon, And His arm will be against the Chaldeans. 15“I, even I, have spoken; indeed I have called him, I have brought him, and He will make his ways successful. 16“Come near to Me, listen to this: From the first I have not spoken in secret, From the time it took place, I was there. And now the Lord GOD has sent Me, and His Spirit.” 17Thus says the LORD, your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel, “I am the LORD your God, who teaches you to profit, Who leads you in the way you should go. 18“If only you had paid attention to My commandments! Then your well-being would have been like a river, And your righteousness like the waves of the sea. 19“Your descendants would have been like the sand, And your offspring like its grains; Their name would never be cut off or destroyed from My presence.” 20Go forth from Babylon! Flee from the Chaldeans! Declare with the sound of joyful shouting, proclaim this, Send it out to the end of the earth; Say, “The LORD has redeemed His servant Jacob.” 21They did not thirst when He led them through the deserts. He made the water flow out of the rock for them; He split the rock and the water gushed forth. SECOND READINGMatthew 9:14–17 14Then the disciples of John came to Him, asking, “Why do we and the Pharisees fast, but Your disciples do not fast?” 15And Jesus said to them, “The attendants of the bridegroom cannot mourn as long as the bridegroom is with them, can they? But the days will come when the bridegroom is taken away from them, and then they will fast. 16“But no one puts a patch of unshrunk cloth on an old garment; for the patch pulls away from the garment, and a worse tear results. 17“Nor do people put new wine into old wineskins; otherwise the wineskins burst, and the wine pours out and the wineskins are ruined; but they put new wine into fresh wineskins, and both are preserved.” Mat 6:9-13 NASB  “Pray, then, in this way: ‘Our Father who is in heaven, Hallowed be Your name.  (10)  ‘Your kingdom come. Your will be done, On earth as it is in heaven.  (11)  ‘Give us this day our daily bread.  (12)  ‘And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors.  (13)  ‘And do not lead us into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.’ The post Together in the Word: Day 17 appeared first on Revival Life Church Boca Raton, FL.
