Tom Cruise BioSnap a weekly updated Biography. Tom Cruise dominated headlines this week with the explosive debut of the first teaser trailer for his hotly anticipated comedy Digger, teaming up with Oscar-winning director Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu for Warner Bros and Legendary Entertainment. Fox Baltimore reports the tagline nails it as a comedy of catastrophic proportions, with Cruise starring as Digger Rockwell, the most powerful man in the world racing to prove hes humanitys savior before his own unleashed disaster wipes everything out. Shot over six months in the UK, its Inarritus first English-language film since The Revenant, scripted with Birdman collaborators and featuring a killer cast including Sandra Huller, John Goodman, Michael Stuhlbarg, Jesse Plemons, Sophie Wilde and Emma Darcey. Slated for October 2, 2026 release, this marks Cruises first full-on comedy since 2010s Knight and Day, signaling a bold pivot that could redefine his late-career legacy. Meanwhile, AOL dished that Cruise turned down a space blockbuster because he refused to beg Elon Musk for favors, despite their past deals like Starlink ties—highlighting his fierce independence in Hollywoods billionaire playground. On the personal front, Foodbible spilled the tea on Cruises legendary Christmas cake tradition, where he dispatches pristine white boxes of mythical baked goodness to A-listers and insiders each December. Jake Johnson, his Mummy co-star from 2017, revealed on Instagram why he no longer gets the cake: after confessing a dairy issue to his hero, Cruise switched to custom gingerbread houses emblazoned with Johnsons kids names, turning it into a heartfelt family ritual that Johnson calls part of their holiday magic. Its classic Cruise—extravagant, thoughtful, and endlessly buzzworthy. Social media lit up too, with Sportskeeda noting fans surprise that Cruise didnt snag first dibs to appear atop the Las Vegas Sphere, after Timothee Chalamet beat him to the iconic perch. No public sightings or fresh business moves surfaced, but this flurry cements Cruises grip on the zeitgeist heading into the holidays.
