Tom Hanson: Our Neighborly Reporter

from Be My Neighbor

As we watched the news surrounding the Black Lives Matters protests, we have a great deal of respect for the reporters working in the field, sometimes directly in the line of danger to keep us informed. We were honored to speak with one of New York's award-winning journalists @ThomasHanson, coming off of an all-nighter @CBS - he’s the true definition of putting in the work.To us, Tommy is a real neighbor- he takes care of his community, by always providing us with the most up-to-date information. He doesn’t just report, he puts himself on the line during his shoots, all while advocating for change. We will get into it ALL of it, including his takeaways from his experiences onsite, his path to becoming a reporter (from interviewing the Dalai Lama to being smuggled into Myanmar’s internment camps to document genocide), and most importantly, the best ways to contribute to change moving forward.
