I went to both the Tommy Robinson’s Unite the Kingdom march and the pro-Palestine counter-protest in central London to hear directly from the people attending — not journalists, not politicians, not activists online, but the people actually on the streets. What I found was far stranger, far more tense, and far more complicated than I expected.Over the course of the day, I spoke to veterans, mothers, immigrants, Christians, Muslims, former Labour voters, Reform supporters, pro-Palestine activists, and anti-Tommy Robinson demonstrators.
