Tomy Wahl & Los Cabra - Goan Taxi Tales (Original Mix) - Asymmetric

from Asymmetric Recordings · host Asymmetric Recordings

Tomy Wahl and Los Cabra link up on Goan Taxi Tales with remix support from Mattia Pompeo. Having had great success on Sincopat together, the Argentinians hit the studio once again for more melodic madness. With back catalogues spanning a wide selection of impressive labels, the meeting of minds on show here is simply amazing. Tomy broke onto the scene back in 2008 and hasn’t taken his foot off the gas since; over 200 releases and counting! And while Berlin-based Los Cabra began in 2017, his workman-like output has seen him signed to some of Germany’s premiere imprints. In original form ’Goan Taxi Tales’ weaves a spiky path from the off. Building slowly to the first break, saw-toothed synths and wonky FX create a chaotic scene of honking horns and jam-packed roads in blistering heat. On the remix, Mattia Pompeo, a regular on Sincopat himself, smooths out the ride and focuses on a low-slung bass groover.

Song Against Songs, The by G. K. Chesterton (1874 - 1936) LibriVox LibriVox volunteers bring you 9 recordings of The Song Against Songs by G. K. Chesterton. This was the Fortnightly Poetry project for October 16, 2011.Chesterton was a large man, standing 6 feet 4 inches (1.93 m) and weighing around 21 stone (130 kg; 290 lb). His girth gave rise to a famous anecdote. During World War I a lady in London asked why he was not 'out at the Front'; he replied, 'If you go round to the side, you will see that I am.' On another occasion he remarked to his friend George Bernard Shaw: "To look at you, anyone would think a famine had struck England". Shaw retorted, "To look at you, anyone would think you have caused it". P. G. Wodehouse once described a very loud crash as "a sound like Chesterton falling onto a sheet of tin."( Summary from Wikipedia ) Summer 2011 | Public lectures and events | Video London School of Economics and Political Science Video files from LSE's summer 2011 programme of public lectures and events, for more recordings and pdf documents see the corresponding audio collection.
