Answering a request, here's an example of what some thought was entertainment 50 years ago: a muzzled (and probably de-clawed) bear being used for comedy. "The Hangman" does most of the work, but the bear was taught (beaten?) to do some rudimentary movies that could look like throws. PETA would tell you it isn't "ethical" to use animals this way. It seems this is a bit of a grayzone, as some animals (the talking parrots, the America's Got Talent trick dogs) seem to have owners who do love them and what's going on is pure play. Many grew up enjoying the antics of "Lancelot Link and the Evolution Revolution" or "Mr. Ed." Sometimes it's a tough call. Other times, when one sees hidden camera footage of orangutangs being beaten, or circus animals caged up, there's no question this is uncivilized behavior. Now Conan had a bear on his show that could do ONE trick. But, uh, that was a guy in a bear costume, and he really wasn't doing that trick. One hopes. If you can get through the bear necessities of observing TV entertainment way back when, you're rewarded with some Supreme music PS, the logo here is not large out of ego, it's masking the more annoying revolving timecode that counted out the milliseconds or precise editing and timing of the broadcast
