Too Busy to be Deterred - Audio

I have come to this Book of Acts, as many Christians have, with awe. With a tinge of regret and conviction. Because we see - bam, pentecost! Holy Spirit fire! We see Peter heading out to the Roman centurion. We see the church coming together saying, “God is for everybody!” We see Antioch Church planting and sending out missionaries! We see Paul and his companions saving the world! And we Christians sit back in our easy chair, reading the story of Acts for the 98th time in the 50th English translation of the Bible we’ve found, and wonder, “Wow… what a Book! What a time!” And then we move on to television. We move on to the sports show. We return to our jobs, wondering, “How to recapture that fiery power of the Holy Spirit to do such things…?”
