But almost immediately, Jack White, former frontman of The White Stripes, stepped up, inviting them out to open for him while telling them, quote, "Get in front of me, Satan." It's a story we've seen over and over again. Fred Durst was initially repulsed by Staind's shocking, blasphemous imagery, only to later become the man who gave them their big break. Time and time again, artists who openly flirt with or profess allegiance to Satan don't disappear after the backlash. They often find influential voices eager to elevate them to even bigger platforms. And the story doesn't stop there.
