When in reality, happiness is something that we generate inside of ourselves. The problem is that people seek happiness from external things. The wins we call them. The Dopamine kicks in and we say "I'm happy!!!" While that IS a way to express happiness, it's not the point of this post. We want to generate happiness. Here are some tools you can use to start generating happiness regardless of the situation you're in: 1. Alignment Pay attention to your longings and discontentment.  That is life's way of telling you what you're in alignment with or not.  If you're in a job that you feel is draining for you mentally and physically and just doesn't FEEL worth it to you (much like I was)... It's out of alignment! Same goes for relationships. The way you work out. Where you live. Etc, etc, etc. Howard Thurman said "Don't do what you think the world needs, do what makes you come alive. Because what the world needs are more people who have come alive." Do what gives you life. 2. Express Gratitude Gratitude is something you generate from within. Gratitude is the FEELING of deep appreciation for what you have in your life right now. We EXPRESS gratitude by actually FEELING IT. Not just thinking or talking about it. If you're not FEELING it, it's not working. Period. Practice saying "Thank you for (x)" Thank you for my hearing, eyesight, car, the fact that I can feel things, my taste, my legs, my phone, my house... Etc, etc, etc. And if you don't have some of those things, focus and give thanks for what you DO have. Over and over and over and over again UNTIL you actually FEEL that deep appreciation for what you have in your life. Right now. Speak to God, Spirit, The Universe, The Forces At Be... Whatever works for you! Express gratitude for all that you have in your life. Right now. Because the truth is that you have so much more than you realize. Practice these two things and watch as you become happier in your life. Happiness isn't a destination, it's something you generate. Want help with this?
