Keller's broadcast career began many years ago at WCYB-TV, an NBC affiliate in Bristol, VA where she worked for seven years as a talk show host, reporter, and anchor of the noon news. She also spent time working in television newsrooms in Denver and San Diego, and worked as a contributing reporter for WVTF public radio in Roanoke, VA. As a professor of Mass Communications at Emory & Henry College, she garnered two statewide teaching awards: the 2003 Virginia Professor of the Year award, presented by the Carnegie Foundation, and the Virginia Council on Higher Education’s Outstanding Faculty Award in 2010. She is author of Television News: The Art and How-to of Video Storytelling -- now in its 4th edition. While at Emory & Henry, she wrote the FCC application for WEHC-FM, now a 9,000 watt College and Community station that went on the air in 1992. She served as a board member Penfield (NY) Town Council Meetings Town of Penfield Meetings of the Town Board for the Town of Penfield in New York State. The board consists of the Town Supervisor and four Council members. The Board adopts resolutions, ordinances, and local laws, and approves the annual budget and tax levy. These meetings originally aired LIVE on the Town of Penfield Television's Government Access Network. Many Capital Returns Quidem Capital Radio celebrated its Golden Jubilee on October 16th. These days a national brand, 50 years ago Capital became Britain's first music-based, legally licensed, independent local radio station – serving the conurbation of Greater London. The man who presented the very first show on Capital was David Symonds. His breakfast show hit the airwaves immediately after chairman Richard Attenborough's opening greeting at 5.00 am. Still broadcasting 50 years later, David tells his amazing personal story and reflects on Capital's hair-raising journey to air, its brush with bankruptcy just days from closure and its unique connection with Londoners.
