TOP 5 EASTER EGGS ft. Kieran McGuinness
from NO ENCORE
No, not the delicious chocolate ones but rather the mysterious / clever / pointless / pretentious / delete-as-appropriate hidden messages, inside jokes and secret surprises buried beneath the surface of your favourite pop song or concept album. Kieran McGuinness of Driven Snow and Delorentos is the creative curator of this week's Top 5 - he managed to mesmerise Dave and Adam in real-time, so pay close attention! Elsewhere this week, the boys wade back into the troubled waters of Edward Christopher Sheeran, and delve into the new Driven Snow record Mother of Christ. Don't miss out on our weekly bonus episodes at patreon.com/noencore - it's a two-for-one special in the coming days as the Film Club returns with sweaty Russell Crowe vehicle Unhinged, while Dave readies an entire month's worth of horror movies for your terrifying pleasure. As for your main NO ENCORE fix right here... ACT ONE: Le Preamble. ACT TWO (12:20): The continued fallout from the Ed Sheeran Loop Tour fiasco takes the lion's share of this week's news round-up as the guys assess the tearful troubadour's onstage address. There's also time for a cultural new government initiative and the long-awaited union between Billy Corgan and the utterly vile excuse for a human being that is Clavicular. ACT THREE (57:41): From shrewd marketing techniques to tender and inventive songwriting, Kieran talks all things Driven Snow. ACT FOUR (1:31:21): Top 5 Easter Eggs.
