Top Players Compete In Davis Cup, Djokovic Sets New Prize Money Record

from Tennis Now Videos · host TennisNow.com

James Waterson reports about the week's tennis news. Rafael Nadal and other top players are back in action this weekend for Davis Cup! Despite losing to Novak Djokovic in a grueling four-hour US Open final Monday, Nadal won Spain's first match against France in the semifinal when he beat Richard Gasquet 6-3, 6-0, 6-1. David Ferrer beat Gilles Simon to put Spain one match away from the final. Meanwhile, Djokovic withdrew from Serbia's semifinal against Argentina because of a back injury, and the South Americans capitalized on his absence by taking a 2-0 lead. In other news, the US Open champion set a new record after winning the tournament on Monday: he has now won the most prize money in ATP history.
