In the final segments of the April 8, 2026, broadcast, The Charlie James Show examines the mounting costs and local controversies surrounding the Obama Presidential Center in Chicago, highlighting its impact on the South Side community. The discussion then shifts to a critical analysis of CNN’s reporting on the 10-point peace proposal from Tehran, which includes demands for lifting all sanctions and a permanent end to military threats. James questions whether the media's portrayal of the deal overlooks potential security risks while exploring the geopolitical implications of the upcoming Friday negotiations in Islamabad.

00:00 welcome back to the program that started to send her in greenville kiss and always a pleasure how are you i'm doing well charlie and and get always a pleasure uh... you know and i i do think one i'd like to start it if i may with uh... uh quote from thomas jefferson night daily when and when you watch all these new big apartment monstrosities are being built yes where yeah and he said when we get piled up on one another and 00:30 cities as in Europe, we shall become as corrupt as Europe." And you look around and you go, yeah, there you go, Jefferson, right again. But I'm calling about the Obama library or whatever it is. I do think it's a perfect reflection of Obama and his vision for the transformation of America. And I think that they did a great job reflecting him. It is unbelievably uh hideous. 00:59 Also, just as a teenager, I went to school in Berlin. I remember when you'd go to Checkpoint Charlie uh into East Berlin, I could not believe it. Well, for one thing, you were told, look neither left nor right. But other than that, everything you saw were just big cubicle buildings. just looked like a bunch of elongated cubes or whatever. And no color, no nothing. And it's funny, I ran into a woman. 01:27 probably a year ago who had also been there at the time. And she said, yes, everything was gray. And I said, yes, that's what I said. Everything was gray. The statues were ugly, very, you know, I mean, I could have done it myself. They were, they didn't take all that much talent. And you go back into West Berlin and you would see life and color and individual businesses and architecture everywhere. And I just think it's interesting that these things are happening. And I'm wondering, Charlie, 01:56 I feel that Donald Trump is trying to fight this, especially with things like the East Wing, you know, making... Yeah, exactly. Yeah, that's a great point. Is that happening? Yeah, that's a great point. I mean, he had that judge blocked it, but that'll be overthrown. But that's it. Whenever you want to do something that is inspiring to the human spirit, the Democrats want to crush it. That is their goal. Crush the human spirit. 02:26 yes absolutely with their heart everything absolutely i think that it's really it's very weird uh... but you know i'm i'm wondering to though uh... with the library that the obama one i've heard from friends from illinois they were who are complaining and saying that that land was historically held for over a hundred years to never be built pond 02:51 because it was on the lake or something. I'm not really sure of all this and I'm wondering if you have heard anything about that. know a lot of people were complaining about it because it was apparently very nice. It was very lush. It was kind of like a park there in Chicago and they came in and they put that monstrosity there. So can't blame them for being upset, Cassandra. I appreciate it. But that's it. That's what they do. They want to crush the human spirit. Always remember that. Why do the Democrats do that? Because they want to crush your spirit. So the Democrats 03:21 aka CNN last night, they ran a story about the ceasefire deal with Iran. Listen to the story that they ran. Breaking news, Iran's foreign minister just responding to Trump's ceasefire announcement. I want to read part of it to you. He says, attacks against Iran are halted, our powerful armed forces will cease their defensive operations. For a period of two weeks, safe passage through the Strait of Hormuz will be possible via 03:51 coordination with Iran's armed forces and with due consideration of technical limitations. Obviously those words are crucial there. And the Supreme National Security Council of Iran has also issued a statement that I have here and I'll just share you a couple of the important lines here. One of them is that the regulated passage through the Strait of Hormuz under the coordination of the armed forces of Iran ...
