Torch Run Honors 911 and Athletes | Montpelier News

Law enforcement officers from across the North Country took to the streets Friday for the 40th annual Torch Run, raising funds for local Special Olympics athletes—and honoring September 11 with deep personal meaning. The route stretched from CV-TEC to City Hall, collecting thousands that directly support athletes in the community. This year’s run carried extra weight as officers remembered loved ones affected by 9/11-related illnesses, turning a powerful tradition into a moving tribute. The partnership between police and Special Olympics New York is longstanding, with year-round support through programs like CV-TEC. Want to help? Visit their website to get involved.
