©2020 words and music by Chris Pendergraft Paper route this song is a time/space warp between my current self and the earliest self I can still relate to with in me. Paper route is the visual reference that I need to form a spacial idea that can push time. Its kinda tripy but I need a picture to start a songwriting journey. Those early mornings formed a work ethic I never lost, but it has taken from me more than it has given me as I have missed important moments in the live of my loved ones in pursuit of my career. Ageless story told by a million hallow men and women, Its not worth it. There is no security at the end, it can all be upended, and if we can prove that in this moment, is work what we should really use to define our worth? Has the money ever brough health, or love or anything really important? No. Companies will always, in almost every case, seek profit over people. Time for a world wide rethink on the almighty dollar and its true value.
