Toronto FC and CF Montréal WIN on the road, Vancouver Whitecaps draw season opener, Josh provides exclusive CPL salary cap update, Canadians can’t stop scoring overseas, and more!

We’re back with our weekend recap as Toronto FC picks up three points on the road for the first time since AUGUST 2022 — as the Reds open their season with back-to-back shutouts for the first time in franchise history. Meanwhile, CF Montréal remain undefeated and secure their first win of 2024 against FC Dallas. Vancouver Whitecaps weren’t able to get all three but still held off Charlotte FC for a 1-1 draw on opening day at BC Place. Josh also provides us with the outcome of his extensive investigation into the Canadian Premier League salary cap ahead of the 2024 season while Mitchell draws our attention to something of dire importance: Canadian strikers just can’t seem to stop scoring overseas. All that and more on another fun episode! FOLLOW US ON X: Mitchell - @CanFutbolTalk / @mbaileyreporter Josh - @Joshrjhealey / @WanderersNotes
