The Deputy Chief Minister has told the UK Conservatives that Gibraltar’s place in the British family of nations is “unshakeable and unbreakable”. Joseph Garcia was addressing delegates at the Gibraltar Government reception at the Conservative Party conference in Manchester.Today marks the start of Dyslexia Awareness Week, and this year’s theme - “Raising the Volume” - is all about encouraging people with dyslexia to share their stories and experiences, and to help others understand how it affects their everyday lives. Paul Gache and Liam Worth told us what it’s like for them to live with dyslexia.It was a busy weekend of big competitions happening on the Rock: our Sports Reporter Jose Mari Ruiz shared all of the results from the annual GASA endurance swim, the Gibraltar Triathlon, the UEC Mountain Bike Eliminator European Championships, and futsal’s Luisito Bonavia Cup.The Gibraltar Mental Welfare Society is marking World Mental Health Day with a public talk this Wednesday. They’ll dicuss holistic care planning and Gibraltar’s model of mental health care — all aimed at promoting awareness, support, and community wellbeing. Mark Montovio is one of the speakers. Applications are now open for the Kusuma Trust Professional Development Award - an annual initiative supporting those who want to further their professional training but may not have access to other funding. We spoke to Michelle Tosso from the Kusuma Trust.And, it was Grandparents Day yesterday and the Citizen's Advice Bureau is asking those lucky enough to have their grandparents in their lives to take a little time out to show them some appreciation.
