TOTLB 291 12 Angry Men
from Thinking Outside The Long Box · host Juan and Gabe
Are you a fan of the courtroom drama? Shows like Law & Order? Do you hear that familiar DUN DUN in your dreams? If you do, then our latest pop culture classic episode, is definitely for you. This is actually, probably, the movie that may have started it all, as far as the courtroom dramas go. We are of course talking about the film, 12 Angry Men. 12 Angry Men tells the story of twelve jurors, who are overseeing a murder case, involving a young African American kid, who is accused of murdering his father. At the beginning, there is only one juror who is taking the case seriously at all, while the rest of the jurors just want to convict the kid, and get on with their lives. The one juror makes it his mission, to give this kid the most fair trial that he can. This leads us to a two hour discussion about a ton of different subject. Those subject include immigration, classism, and of course, racism. For it's time, it does a great job of talking about a lot of serious topics. It definitely doesn't shy away from too many things!! I think the feeling from the group, was that this was a great movie, full of some amazing acting, and worth the time for you all to make sure you give it a watch!
