TOTLB 523 Goosebumps
from Thinking Outside The Long Box · host Juan and Gabe
If you didn't know who Slappy was when you were growing up, somehow you few up without Goosebumps, which is quite a shame!! RL Stine filled most of our young lives with scary, but not too scary, and goofy types of campfire stories!! The first reiteration of Goosebumps as a TV show was anthology based and was very close to the books! "Goosebumps season 1, which is a darker, more mature take on the classic horror series, tells a single, continuous story across 10 episodes. It revolves around group of high school friends who uncover a haunted house's dark secrets and their parents' connection to it, leading to the unleashing of a malevolent force upon their town. The season features elements from various R.L. Stine books, including "Night of the Living Dummy," but doesn't directly adapt their plots." It's not perfect, but I think that it blends the anthology story pretty well with it's source material, in a way that tells individual stories well and tells a bigger story at the same time!
